Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

I've lost hundreds of dollars in premiums for "coverage" before finding out that Healthy Paws doesn't really cover much of anything. Signed up after seeing their deceptive sales and marketing material and website, imagining that normal things (exam to see if something was wrong with my dog, heartworm exam, rabies vaccinations, etc.) were not covered. NONE OF IT!!! Yes, when you receive the welcome email for being a new member, there is a small link at the BOTTOM of the email stating that you can optionally click to check other information on the EXTENSIVE list of exclusions. Do NOT purchase this "insurance" if you have any expectation of coverage for normal care. (Though they do seem to cover accidents) Otherwise, you are just going to be sending money to their premium collection service (really hard to even call this insurance!!!) I am also going to be tagging other reviews here. Not spamming, but I think people should know the truth about Healthy Paws. I see AT LEAST dozens (if not 100+?) of other customers of Healthy Paws that have written of the same experience, having been tricked by deceptive business practices here

I cannot recommend Healthy Paws more highly. We had only been a customer for a little over a year when our dog, Ruger, got loose and injured both of his knees. Turns out the big guy tore BOTH of his CCLs and needed surgery on each leg. Healthy Paws was right there with us and processed our claims before the credit card payments were even due. Incredible insurance, incredible customer service. And follow up emails to check on our furchild! Who does that? My Frenchie puppy has had to get extensive surgery at not even one year old; without the help of Healthy Paws it would've costed my boyfriend and I am arm and a leg but thankfully they're like our financial angel! I highly suggest them over any another insurance company. Every time I call customer service if I have a question/issue with claims, etc. they are always super helpful and patient with me. I give Healthy Paws an A+

When my husband and I found out our dog needed an unexpected surgery to address a torn CCL we knew we would do/pay anything to get her happy and healthy again. The peace of mind we had knowing that her surgery would be covered was a great comfort during this scary time! Submitting claims is quick and easy. Customer service is amazing as well! Cannot recommend buying pet insurance through Healthy Paws enough.

Normally when I think of insurance I just see it as another bill to pay but when I picked my puppy up for the first time and brought him home, just the look in his eyes screamed trouble. I would rather be safe than sorry with my little guy. I scoured the internet for a solid two weeks reading reviews and their full policies. By the time I came down to two it had been a month and I needed to make a decision. HealthyPaws came up as a solid top-tier contender in a majority of the reviews I read and their policy was very clear and comprehensive. I purchased the insurance and for 3 years never came close to using it but it provided a sense of safety if anything were to happen to my pup. Sure enough at a routine visit the vet diagnosed a knee condition and it was so bad it required surgery. The stress I was going through at the time was unbearable. Financially and emotionally drained I spoke with representative about how I was supposed to file a claim and assumed I'd get a runaround and something wouldn't be covered. To my shock, the representative I spoke with was so kind and helpful. They explained my coverage and even informed me of things that were applicable to a claim that weren't immediately apparent in the documents. I cannot recommend HealthyPaws enough. You never want to be in a position where your finances dictate your pup's well-being and HealthyPaws made that a non-issue in my case.
