Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

We have 2 dogs covered by Healthy Paws and we couldn't be more pleased. A month after signing up one of our dogs ate a whole bottle of pet meds. We rushed her to a 24 hour animal emergency room where they did blood tests and gave her anti-toxicity drugs and IVs, kept her over-night and then more tests... We had only paid in $70 in premiums and immediately we send in a bill for almost $1000. Surely they're gonna question this! Surely they're gonna say the bill was too high. (We DID take her to the equivalent of a hospital Emergency Room.) But within a week the claim was processed and we got back 90% (minus a $50 yearly deductible.) In the past we were with VPI and they would have paid about $150. MAYBE.. Over the 4 or 5 years we've had our dogs insured with Healthy Paws, they have ALWAYS been a pleasure to work with. You will not go wrong insuring through them.

Our pit-mix was diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis in 2011, and since then has needed ongoing vet care, lab testing, and expensive immunosuppressants drugs. Healthy Paws has been with us every step of the way with the fastest claim service, and the best customer service anywhere. We have consistently received e-mails and calls just to check in on our boy, making our pet insurer feel more like neighbors. Over the years we have been fortunate to love many dogs, and have dealt with many pet insurance companies. As along as we have furbabies in our home, they will be insured with Healthy Paws. They are the best out there!

We adopted our dog Sprocket in Tucson, AZ while traveling in an RV. Included in his adoption fee, was a veterinarian statement attesting to his good health. We purchased insurance from Healthy Paws because we are retired and thought it would be better to pay a monthly fee rather than risk a large expense if Sprocket ever had a health issue. Due to his young age, I thought it would be many years or maybe never, when we would actually need to use it. I sure was wrong. As it turned out, he became ill and it was determined he had a congenital heart defect and would need surgery. Even though we have only had him a few months, he is the light of our lives and we would have incurred whatever debt that was necessary in order to save him. Thanks to Healthy Paws Pet Insurance though, that wasn't necessary. It only took a couple of minutes to submit my claim and they processed it in a very timely manner. They also personally contacted me to check on Sprocket's recovery. Awesome company!!

Throughout this time, Healthy Paws has been there to pay our claims promptly, to provide incredible customer service, and to check in with us periodically to see how our boy is doing. That kind of oncern and customer service is unparalleled, and I know because over the course of my life I have dealt with numerous pet insurance companies! Just two weeks ago, our boy ruptured his left hind CCL, and is about to start a rehab program that will include underwater treadmill and acupuncture therapy, Again, Healthy Paws was there to answer questions about coverage, etc. We are grateful to have found Healthy Paws, and will continue to work with them as long as we have furbabies!

Healthy Paws has had our back since Wrenley was a puppy. Their app makes claims easy and fast... All you have to do is snap a picture of the vet bill and you're done. No need to print our claim forms or have the vet sign anything. Healthy Paws takes care of it all for you. We really needed them when our 15-month old golden retriever started vomiting uncontrollably a couple weeks ago. We took her to an emergency vet facility and discovers she had an intestinal blockage. We were so worried about her, but we didn't have to worry about how we were going to pay for her care because she was insured through Healthy Paws. Wrenley is fine now, thank goodness, and we don't have to worry about paying for her treatment for months or years. Healthy Paws is peace of mind! We never have to worry about money being a factor in what treatment course to choose.
