Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

I lost a beloved pug in 2009 and not until the fall of 2012 was I emotionally ready for a new pet. Turned out I adopted two 8 week old pug litter brothers. Love at first sight and continuing always. Anyhow, I did due diligence on pet insurance since I want to give them the very best. It became readily apparent that Healthy Paws was the best of class....at least on paper...so I immediately enrolled "the boys". During the intervening 5 years we have only had a few minor insurable issues and I have been singularly impressed with Healthy Paws. One of the pugs, Little John, recently blew out his left rear knee ...in a dog sense...with a luxating patella which made him into basically a three legged dog. Fortunately, I found a board certified vet surgeon who specializes in orthopedic surgery-not cheap!. Little John was operated on Sept. 19 to the tune of $3,300. I submitted the claim on Sept. 21 via Healthy Paws super slick and easy online procedure. Claim was approved 2 days later covering 90% just as they promised! Subsequently, Healthy Paws representatives have followed up on Little John's well being via email which is a very nice caring touch. So not only can I attest that Healthy Paws is the best on paper, but also in reality.. Consequently I can't recommend Healthy Paws highly enough and encourage all those seeking pet insurance to do a careful review of all the offerings and their fine print vs Healthy Paws. You won't be disappointed,.. By the way, Little John is doing fine two weeks out!

Healthy Paws insurance was a life saver for my 3 year old BOrder Collie. She became very ill and needed emergency surgery, I was able to get her surgery done knowing that I had great insurance to cover the cost. Earl, our English Style Labrador Retrievor ruptured his CTL Ligament (similar to ACL in humans) in the knee of his left leg. Our vet referred Earl to a specialist who confirmed he had a ruptured CTL Ligament and recommended TPLO Surgery. Without the surgery Earl would have been faced with taking pain medicine for the rest of his life plus probability of early arthritis. Pets, for many of us, are family members and we feel a deep sense of obligation to provide them with the best possible health care. My approach to pet insurance was to hope I never needed to use it but felt a need to have it in case Earl experienced an injury or other health issue. Specialist care is very expensive and I am so thankful to Healthy Paws Insurance for quickly reimbursing me for 80% of Earl's Surgical Expenses. Healthy Paws reviewed my claim and quickly sent a check. I am very happy with the communications and must provide Healthy Paws with a very top rating.

My cat Uni fell off 7 stories from my apartment window on 9/13/2017. Fortunately, Uni was conscious when we found him. He suffered from multiple bone fractures but luckily there's no major internal injury (he had blood in his urine for the first couple of day though). After staying in the hospital with lots of examinations and surgery, Uni came home after 6 days hospitalization. The medical bill became a tremendous pressure to me, Uni would never had the best treatments if there's no Healthy Paws pet insurance supports. I am SO glad that I chose Healthy Paws as my pet insurance -- they show cares about Uni and they reimbursed the bill within 2 weeks. I highly recommend Healthy Paws as you first choice of your pet insurance.

This is a great company. They have paid out over $9000 for two major surgeries. Our lab likes swallowing things whole! Like advertised they paid everything that was in agreement. If your a pet owner you must get insurance. Our baby would not be here after the first surgery without it. It's well worth the cost. This last claim taking a little longer to process as they are behind due to a large number of claims. Just waiting on check.
