We've had Healthy Paws Pet Insurance ever since we rescued our fur child 3 years ago and we are so happy with the level of service we receive from Healthy Paws. Although you never want to submit a claim because it means something bad has happened to your pup, the claims process is easy and Healthy Paws always makes it a point to check in on your dog after the fact. Highly recommend!

Great company, claim filed and paid within 2 weeks
My dog Toby started having seizures. I took him to our local vet, then needed to take him to a specialist.
It was very stressful , but filing a claim with healthy Paws was as easy as taking a picture of the bill. They processed and deposited my reimbursement in my checking account in less than 2 weeks !

Healthy Paws saved my family
I assure anyone who reads this that I am not exaggerating when I write that Healthy Paws has been an absolute life saver for my family. Recently, we fostered an Alaskan malamute, Tuna, because her people were going through challenging times. When it became clear that they would no longer be able to care for Tuna, of course our heart broke at the idea of letting her go. As a young couple with a wedding, and hopefully home-ownership, on the horizon we knew that caring for a giant breed dog would not be easy. After many tumultuous nights, we established a budget that, although challenging, would work for our new slightly larger family.
Recently, Tuna has had issues with serious nasal discharge to which anti-biotics were ineffective and we were told that she would need specialized care which of course is incredibly expensive. As health insurance companies are often cold and primarily concerned with their bottom line, I was a bit anxious when I put in the first claim for Tuna and could not help but anticipate some kind of resistance. Unfortunately, my fears came true as my claim was rejected with the handler citing missing documentation although I had uploaded all the requested information. I thought I was in for a heated back and forth which of course no one wants to do, especially when it pertains to the health of a family member. I was prepared to do battle for my furry gal but was pleasantly surprised to be met with an incredibly polite, courteous, and helpful representative on the line that quickly resolved the situation (the documentation was uploaded as if for a new claim and not associated with the original claim which was easily remedied without any work on my part).
Since the original claim, Tuna has had multiple other claims associated with the same condition and each one has been honored without a hitch. There is no doubt in my mind that without the services of Healthy Paws, my family would currently be in an incredibly difficult situation, likely ruined, that I am not certain we would have overcome. I can say with absolute confidence that any resolution we could have realized without Healthy Paws would not have been one in which we would have been 100% happy with. I am not ashamed to say that simply thinking and writing about the prospect of handling the situation without Healthy Paws makes me teary-eyed. Thankfully, with the help of Healthy Paws, Tuna is getting the treatment that she deserves and continues to enrich our lives as we all know animals do so well and I could not be happier with my decision to use Healthy Paws to ensure the health of my furry girls.
I do not hesitate to recommend their services to animal lovers that I engage. The relief that I feel knowing that my girls are protected is truly priceless. Thank you so much Healthy Paws for helping me keep my family healthy and together.

Great coverage and customer service
Chose HP to cover our little rescue mutt, as I found the best reviews and ratings. Sadly, she had hip dysplasia @6 months, so that was an out-of-pocket $$$; but well worth it to see the little gal use all 4 legs again. Last year she was hit, most likely by a motorbike, as she only had superficial cuts and thankfully nothing broken and no internal damage. Still close to $1,500 for emergency vet, sutures, overnight stay. Got a check for nearly $1,100 within a couple of weeks. Hopefully the gal has at least another 10 years in her, so we won't have to agonize over whether we can afford to care for her should she have some senior health issues.

Great solution for pet insurance
While initially hesitant about pet insurance, we decided the risk just wasn't worth it when bringing home our new rescue pup at 3 months. Healthy Paws was recommended to us, so we began paying the $30/month around this time, assuming we would never use it.
Unfortunately, around 7 months, our pup began getting sick - and often. We hit the $250 HP deductible relatively quickly, where afterwards we began getting reimbursed 80% for all medical costs (minus the initial $100 vet fee each time). The process through Healthy Paws is quick, easy and consistent - one picture of your vet bill and within a week, we usually have a check in hand.
Our pup was eventually diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy, where the number of tests ran us thousands of dollars. True to their policy, Healthy Paws covered 80% of everything, subsequently saving us thousands of dollars. Their customer service has also been great, and has generally made our challenging experience a significant amount easier.
$15 – $80, depending on breed, zip code, age of pet and choice of deductible and co-pay.
