Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

I chose Healthy Paws because they're local and had very high ratings. And I recently had reason to discover the "why" of those ratings. I've had insurance for my dog, Timmy, since we adopted him and never had to use it until now. But "now" was a big one. He developed an abscess in his liver and was in the hospital for four days, so the bills were huge. But true to their word, the reimbursement process was simple and fast. Not only that, there were emails hoping Timmy was healing. A nice touch! I highly recommend this company.

So this is one of the first reviews I've ever written but really felt it was important. I'm a pet parent to two awesome and quirky cats that our family adores and was heart broken when one of them came back with a diagnosis of mast cell cancer right before this last Christmas. He was always so happy and healthy, and from what seemed like one week to the next, we were given the option of starting him on palliative care or going to a specialist to see if there was anything at all that could be done. I wanted to give my kitty every chance to hold onto his life, so decided to take him to an oncologist and do whatever possible - whether it meant using up my savings or putting his care on a credit card. Lots of specialist visits, major surgery, and ER stays later, my little cat is doing well beyond belief. Even his oncologist is amazed! The bills though, as can be imagined, have been off the charts. I was with a different pet insurance company years ago before I found Healthy Paws and the reimbursement rate was pretty minimal, so it took me a while to even submit any claims this time around. I have to say I was actually shocked in the best way at the service I received through Healthy Paws once push actually came to shove. They initially needed my kitty's full medical records/history and reviewed that, but afterwards, all the claims I filed were taken care of immediately and the reimbursement level was incredible. Submitting claims was also super easy through their app. I was ready to use all my savings for my little kitty if that's what it took, but thanks to Healthy Paws, I didn't have to. Service was transparent, extremely fair, and efficient - they even reached out to me to check in on my Thomas. Before deciding what pet insurance company to go through, I did tons and tons of research. I'd read good reviews about Healthy Paws, liked their customer service, and decided to take a chance. I'm writing this review in the hopes of helping others out there going through the same process I went through, deciding to take a chance on a company, and not really knowing if they will come through when you may actually need for them to. It's not an easy decision, and so I'm sharing my own experience because it's been a truly positive one. Healthy Paws came through for my family in a way I myself did not even expect. I cannot imagine a better company out there, and I am so grateful to them for the part they played in helping me to give my little kitty the chance at life that he deserves. I sincerely cannot recommend them highly enough!

After a lot of research I purchased Healthy Paws Pet Insurance for my 2 dogs who were both healthy at the time although one had had acl surgery. After purchasing, one of my dogs was diagnosed with an auto immune disease and needs frequent visits to the vet. He also had to have a mass removed and surgery for tearing his other acl. All of this was covered and my reimbursement checks were sent promptly. I could not be happier with the great customer service and benefits! I highly recommend Healthy Paws.

I have a 10 year old, black and white Tuxedo Cat, named Tuxey. When I was looking for the best pet insurance for him, several years ago, I was very impressed with the reviews, Healthy Paws received. I chose Healthy Paws, after looking at many other pet insurance companies and I am so glad I did. They are an AWESOME company! They have different plans, from which you can choose, that you feel is best for your pet. You can choose your coverage and deductible. They have a range of different costs, for coverage, depending on the kind of coverage , you want.One thing that I like, is the one time yearly deductible.. A lot of pet insurance companies, have a deductible for each claim, filed for sickness or injury. I like paying the deductible, just once per year and then I have my 90% coverage on Tuxey. Each time, I have filed a claim, the customer service is outstanding. It is easy to file a claim and they are always very prompt, in handling it. They always keep me informed, by e-mail, regarding the status of my claim and after completed, they inform me, exactly what is covered, what is not and the amount, I am to be reimbursed. They are very efficient. And very importantly, every one of the customer care representatives, with whom I have spoken, has been very courteous, enthusiastic and always seem genuinely concerned about how Tuxey is doing. I appreciate that.They all have compassion and love for pets and that is very evident. They are sincere and like a family. I would never change companies, because I think Healthy Paws IS the absolute best pet insurance company. I tell all my friends and told my Vet, what a great company it is. I found my boy through Petfinder four years ago and i thought it critical to have a good health insurance plan for him. I did a lot of online searching and questioned many friends with pets and determined that Healthy Paws suited my needs. I couldn’t have made a wiser choice. Turned out that Petey had problem knees and the year after he joined our family, he tore the cruciate ligament in his right rear leg. The corrective surgery was major and expensive, and no questions asked, Healthy Paws covered 90 percent of the cost. I filed the claim, and in a week I received reimbursement. 50 percent of dogs who tear the cruciate in one leg may tear it in the other, and that’s wxaxtly what happened with Pete. This surgery was even more serious because his kneecap required repair as well. He’s home two weeks now from surgery and doing well and Healthy Paws came through again. The check was in the mail within a few days of submitting the claim. The staff there is friendly, responsive, and dependable. I couldn’t ask for more. There have been moderate yearly premium increases, but that’s to be expected and they seem completely fair. I recommend Healthy Paws highly. They have provided me with a sense of security that makes taking care of my family member much easier and less challenging than it could be without them.
