Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

I have a 10 year old, black and white Tuxedo Cat, named Tuxey. When I was looking for the best pet insurance for him, several years ago, I was very impressed with the reviews, Healthy Paws received. I chose Healthy Paws, after looking at many other pet insurance companies and I am so glad I did. They are an AWESOME company! They have different plans, from which you can choose, that you feel is best for your pet. You can choose your coverage and deductible. They have a range of different costs, for coverage, depending on the kind of coverage , you want.One thing that I like, is the one time yearly deductible.. A lot of pet insurance companies, have a deductible for each claim, filed for sickness or injury. I like paying the deductible, just once per year and then I have my 90% coverage on Tuxey. Each time, I have filed a claim, the customer service is outstanding. It is easy to file a claim and they are always very prompt, in handling it. They always keep me informed, by e-mail, regarding the status of my claim and after completed, they inform me, exactly what is covered, what is not and the amount, I am to be reimbursed. They are very efficient. And very importantly, every one of the customer care representatives, with whom I have spoken, has been very courteous, enthusiastic and always seem genuinely concerned about how Tuxey is doing. I appreciate that.They all have compassion and love for pets and that is very evident. They are sincere and like a family. I would never change companies, because I think Healthy Paws IS the absolute best pet insurance company. I tell all my friends and told my Vet, what a great company it is. I found my boy through Petfinder four years ago and i thought it critical to have a good health insurance plan for him. I did a lot of online searching and questioned many friends with pets and determined that Healthy Paws suited my needs. I couldn’t have made a wiser choice. Turned out that Petey had problem knees and the year after he joined our family, he tore the cruciate ligament in his right rear leg. The corrective surgery was major and expensive, and no questions asked, Healthy Paws covered 90 percent of the cost. I filed the claim, and in a week I received reimbursement. 50 percent of dogs who tear the cruciate in one leg may tear it in the other, and that’s wxaxtly what happened with Pete. This surgery was even more serious because his kneecap required repair as well. He’s home two weeks now from surgery and doing well and Healthy Paws came through again. The check was in the mail within a few days of submitting the claim. The staff there is friendly, responsive, and dependable. I couldn’t ask for more. There have been moderate yearly premium increases, but that’s to be expected and they seem completely fair. I recommend Healthy Paws highly. They have provided me with a sense of security that makes taking care of my family member much easier and less challenging than it could be without them.

We have been with Healthy Paws since Feb 2018. Without a doubt it has been the smartest decision for Pet Insurance we could have ever made. Recently our puppy had a horrible accident with a pickup truck. As a result, Riley had to have two intense surgeries for a broken femur and fractured pelvis. We are fortunate that Riley came through surgery (surgeons able to save her leg) and she now faces a lot of therapy and rehab work ahead. Healthy Paws has been with us every step of the way .. from easy claim submission (all online.. nice website) .. great support from care and claims processing and quick claim reimbursement (claim settled in approx 1 week !).. We would highly recommend Healthy Paws to any/all pet owners .. They actually care about the pets they insure .. we have a long road of recovery ahead .. but .. we feel better knowing that folks at Healthy Paws are with us !

I had a very stressful time when I found out my 7 y old Standard Poodle had a mass on his liver. He also had some cardiac irregularities as well. He had to have lab tests, chest x-ray, ultrasound, Cardiac consult at UC Davis, consult with Oncologist and ultimately surgery. As anyone who's had an emergency with their dog know all of those tests and consults really ad up. Thank goodness for Healthy Paws! Once I fulfilled our deductible they covered 90% of all treatments and meds required to get my boy back up and running. Submitting my claims was super easy, I just scanned the required documents and emailed them to their claims department. Their response was within the next couple of days and the checks followed shortly after. I'm horrified to think what it would be like if I hadn't purchased their insurance when I first got Rudy as a puppy. As a result Rudy my Therapy/Comfort Poodle will be back to work making people happy!

Healthypaws has been one of the best decisions we've made when it comes to being a pet owner. It's incredibly easy to file a claim using their app and the reimbursement comes quickly. There's always plenty of communication at every step of the way which makes it feel super accessible (especially in comparison to dealing with human medical insurance companies). The best part about having Healthypaws as our insurance is that it's eliminated the financial worry that used to occur when something went wrong with our dog. Now, it's an effortless decision to make when it seems like he needs to be seen by a vet; we know it'll be covered by our insurance.
