Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

I recently rescued a pupper in March. My friends at work mentioned getting insurance for him. I thought to myself, no way he would ever need it! I signed up anyway just in case. The monthly fee is not much- just cut back on a few Starbucks drinks :). Connor ended up with a large mass on his leg. It was a very scary time because I had bonded so much with this dog and I was terrified for surgery and being able to afford it. Thank goodness I had Healthy Paws who answered all of my questions and made the process so easy. The app is fantastic and it is so easy to submit claims. They process quickly and the next thing you know, they are paying back up to 80%. Getting pet insurance through Healthy Paws was the best thing I’ve ever done!! I am so thankful for them!

My dog had to be taken into the emergency clinic to find out he needed his Spleen removed do to masses surrounding it. It was a big probability that they were malignant and were going to give him a month - six to live. My best friend beat the odd and every one of them was benign. If I didn't have Healthy Paws Ins. I would be sweating the payments on his bill.

I really can't thank Healthy Paws enough for their help during such a stressful time with my my girl (a small dog named Sophie). First she got diagnosed with Cushings, which requires multiple tests and medication (which is not cheap)! Healthy Paws paid their 90% of the plan I am enrolled in. It was simple with the app, easy and no hassle at all. I thought that was it as far as health problems for her, but then suddenly she went into heart failure and spent sometime in the ER. The bill was $3600. I was so stressed out, but they said they would cover it. I paid on my credit card and submitted it thru the app, and again without any hassle they paid 90%. I strongly feel I was lucky enough to have chosen the best pet insurance out there. My girl has had great care and is doing well on her meds (she now has more meds, due to her heart problems, and those really are not cheap). Her quality of life is good and she is happy. She has to get her liver and kidneys checked every so often due to the meds. I submit the receipts thru the app, and again, no hassle and they cover 90% I have become such a strong advocate for pet insurance now. Anytime anyone I meet tells me they have a pet or are planning to get one, I constantly recommend Healthy Paws and tell them my story with my girl and the help Healthy Paws gave during such an incredibly stressful time. She got such great care and I really cannot thank them enough, but I try by telling everyone I can think of about Healthy Paws and Sophie's story.

I chose HealthyPaws after essentially reviewing every major pet insurance company. Attracted by the rates, few care exclusions (except the typical ones every company has), and the high reimbursement rate, I went with them. Over the years, I've only had to submit a couple of minor claims as my dog is relatively healthy. However, when he was diagnosed with having two mast cell tumors that needed to be surgically removed, I was naturally concerned about whether reimbursing such a high amount would end up being a hassle. Not at all. I just uploaded the receipt (you can even do it by taking a pic of the receipt with your phone!) and waited for the deposit in my account. The reimbursement came in as exactly the amount I'd calculated (90% of all services, surgery, and medicine - essentially the entire cost of the procedure and care with the exception of the 'office fee', which is always excluded). I will note that they were experiencing 'delayed claim processing times' when this happened, but I got an email indicating the status, and the claim was reimbursed within the new timeframe I was given (about 10 business days). It was a very straightforward, painless process and I honestly wouldn't ask to change anything about it. All insurance claims should be this simple!

I have been so happy with this insurance. I have 2 dogs and it has been great. They are so fats at reimbursement. I would recommend to anyone.
