We couldn't be more grateful for the service and care we have received from this company. Our dog got really sick really fast and the bills quickly piled up. We knew we could provide him all the care he required because we were insured. Their customer service is top notch. I could always reach someone and talk to a live person every time I called. Again, forever grateful to this company and would recommend them whole heartedly.

Looking out for my fur baby

Far beyond Five Stars
Nationwide has provided superior service on every claim submitted. We've had three dogs covered, one of which we recently lost after his fifth hospitalization. Thanks to Nationwide, he had the best care possible and we are eternally grateful. Everyone on their team has always been friendly, caring, and professional. I always recommend Nationwide Pet Insurance to my friends and neighbors. My most recent interaction was with Martha when I called to confirm our policy was cancelled after the passing of our sweet Ronnie. Martha was so kind and helpful...she's a true asset to the Nationwide team.

Excelente Customer Service
I contact Customer Care by email twice before purchase with a few questions, the response was quickly and effective ( Thank you Jalisa for the great experience). It was very easy to set up my quote and purchase. Looking for ways to improve? I would like to be able to set my pet’s age in weeks and not just in month ( at least for the first 4 months like other insurance companies. I was not able to see my documents after login in to my account, at least not on my phone. I will try tomorrow on the computer. I did received an email from CEO but only included the attachment for the main policy and not the wellness program. Thank you!

The very best at the worst of times.
One of my dogs suddenly became very ill and I took him to the ER in Concord CA. Once the ER vet figured out what was wrong he was admitted immediately. The next morning the front office called me and asked for my policy number. In less than 1 hour the clinic and Trupanion had a pre approval claim started and later the same day Trupanion called me twice to explain everything. The clinic has direct billing with Trupanion which was a huge relief because I did not have to pay out of pocket the $22,000 is cost to save my beautiful boy. I can’t say enough how this helped during a very difficult time. I will always have Trupanion insurance on all my dogs. Thank you Trupanion.

Worst pet insurance company ever
So, I’ve been with this company, for close to 15+ years, when it was called Petplan and before being bought out numerous times by other companies. They used to be the best in terms of coverage and overall value and ease of claims. They are now anything but that. One of the worst things is their per incident deductible. As an example, I’ll use a $200 deductible. So, if you bring your pet to the vet for anything, let’s say 5 times in a year. Well, if each of the 5 times that you brought your pet in was for a different reason your total deductible will be a whopping $1,000. That’s absolutely ridiculous. They also, not only, raised my rates this coming year but they reduced the coverage on one of my pets. They actually told me that the reason they reduced coverage was that they weren’t making enough money off me which I found totally absurd. And the rate hike isn’t even reasonable. I was paying around $1,500 yearly for my two pets last year. This year they want over $4,000 per year. Hell no. I will be dropping them lime a hot potato. Stay far away from this company. There are much better plans available elsewhere.

Overpriced with constantly rising rates
When I first signed up for Trupanion for my dog I was paying less than $40 per month. I was assured that the price would not go up. I just received an email saying it will be over $80 per month! It is unacceptable
