I cannot say enough about Trupanion
I cannot say enough about Trupanion. They have exceeded all my expectations. My pup Olive required emergency surgery, and it was costly. I was expecting that I would have to fight for reimbursement. Not at all. Trupanion lived up to the contract and reimbursed me within days of submitting the claim. The website is straightforward and easy to use. I have told my friends who have pet's to consider Trupanion. High integrity and great business operations. Thank you! Having Trupanion takes some of the worry away when you have a sick animal. I'm fairly happy with FIGO insurance for my dog
I'm fairly happy with our FIGO insurance. They covered thousands of dollars for us in 2022 as our dog had some health issues. Two things that I do find frustrating with them: 1. Prior to a procedure, you can email them for pre-approval. However, they won't give you pre-approval saying that they cannot do that legally, but can tell you if something should or should not be covered. That's very frustrating, and difficult to make decisions. Why can't it be like human health insurance and know yes or no? This has to be improved. 2. Again after dealing with and paying for treatment/surgeries for my dog, I wanted to increase coverage - pay more annually in premium but less in the event there's an issue. FIGO won't let you increase policies. You can only decrease.

Worth it- Nationwide Pet Insurance always reimburses you
We pay $113/month for 1 dog in NYC. I think that is so expensive. BUT we get reimbursed 90% of all claims after a $250 deductible by submitting the receipt. This week I had 2 claims and already got reimbursed. There are much cheaper companies out there but our benefits are way better and we will continue to stay with Nationwide for pet insurance!

Healthy Paws is INCREDIBLE
Healthy Paws is an amazing pet insurance company. My dog has severe allergies and they have covered all of her treatments, plus they were incredible about covering the two emergency rooms visits she's had. I didn't have to worry about paying for her care, because I knew they would help me - quickly and efficiently. I've never had to argue about coverage and my reimbursement checks come immediately. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend them to everyone!!

Don't buy insurance for your pet without looking at this one!
After looking at a dozen pet insurance companies I came across MetLife, the funny thing is they are not listed on any of the so called "pet insurance review sites" which convinced me that those review sites only post reviews for the companies that pay them to do so. (I found out about fake paid reviews a few years ago when I tried to compare mattresses) Metlife covers almost everything and have a wellness plan that pays 100% of immunizations, dental cleanings, spay/neuter and exams. They even cover pre-existing conditions if you currently have pet insurance and the plan is covering claims involving the condition. There weren't many reviews of it so I contacted them directly with a list of questions and they are legit so I took out a policy with them. Within a few weeks my puppy ate some pills that were toxic to dogs and I ran up a $900 vet bill - Metlife paid it without question in under 2 weeks. By the way I am a current customer, and I don't get benefit in any way by writing this review. The only downside to Metlife is that they aren't available in all states yet.

Such a scam of an insurance policy
Finally cancelled my policy with Figo. 1 star for the sign up process and the gift tag and bowl they send you in the mail. I had Figo for a total of 7 months. (Signed up when my puppy was 3 months old) Anyway, they find every reason under the sun to deny your claim. Most recently, I got a claim denied for an ear infection because he was seen months ago for a SEPARATE dermatological issue. The first issue was a bump on his neck, and they denied the ear infection with this explanation "If Your Pet showed Clinical Signs of any Dermatological Condition prior to the end of the Waiting Period, Your Pet must be free of any Dermatological Conditions for twelve (12) consecutive monthsbefore any Dermatological Conditions may be covered again" My fault for not reading the policy in it's entirety. Learn from my mistake and choose a different provider. I was able to find another pet insurance that wont just lump things into a category. In the last year I spent 1174.72 at the vet, and Figo paid out 72.90 LOL. Mind you my deductible was $250 and I paid extra for the wellness ride that covers some vaccinations which is what they paid out. I paid in total 88 per month for 7 months. The math says: FIGO IS A WASTE OF MONEY. COMPLETELY USELESS.
