Always helpful!
I have had to file a few claims for my adult dog, and they have been paid quickly and smoothly. When I was going to pick up my new puppy this past weekend, I called to activate my breeder certificate so that my puppy would be covered when the breeder left the house to meet me. We were traveling from Virginia to Massachusetts with my new baby and I wanted to make sure she was protected if anything happened! Trupanion has always been incredibly responsive and everyone I’ve talked to has been warm and friendly.

Healthy Paws is the best
Healthy Paws is the best! During a recent bout of IBD the medical bills for my Husky/Shepherd mix racked up quickly. Healthy Paws paid their fair share quickly with no hassles at all. In fact, after about the fourth check they wrote and asked how he was doing just to make sure he was ok. Now that's good service! At this point I'm sure they've paid me more in reimbursements than I paid them in premiums, but they've never complained. (Oh, and they did the same thing for my last dog...a 14 year old GSD with multiple health issues). I wish my own health insurance were this good.

Trouble free claims experience
My experience with Healthy Paws has been very positive. Like any insurance product, you never know how well it will work until you need it. We have maintained coverage for our dog and cat for 6 years, and never really needed it until this year, when our dog Hammy tore a knee ligament and needed surgery to repair it. After we met the annual deductible, Healthy Paws paid their share of the remaining bills with no trouble at all. The vet also prescribed medication to relieve arthritis in Hammy's other knee, and this was covered by insurance too. Claims are paid very quickly via direct deposit, and customer service is helpful and friendly when needed. The "preexisting conditions" exclusion is disappointing, and annual rate increases are never fun, but I suppose that's standard practice for the industry. Overall the insurance does the job I want it to do, which is to make it easy to keep our pets healthy and happy.

Pets Best is excellent with communication on claims status. Their coverage is fair and their customer service (especially the chat feature) is super helpful!

Claim unpaid
I have been a customer for over a year. An approved claim in Dec. 2021 has not been paid. I have contacted by phone and email several times over the past six months. Checked and remedied their incorrect address for my account in April. A customer service rep stated that my check was processed (for the third time) on May 6, 2022 and should arrive shortly. No check has been received. I emailed one last time on 06/06/2022. The company has not responded. I have submitted my complaint to the BBB as of July 5, 2022.

Could be much better
Premiums are high, which would be fine if there were 100% reimbursement rather than 90%. Also, reimbursements take far too long to process.
