Healthy Paws has provided exceptional Service
Healthy Paws has provided exceptional service ever since our Standard Poodle was diagnosed with Pseudomonas aeruginosa. We have been working with Healty Paws for over a year. Our primary Vet Dr. Brian Reister referred us to Animal Dermatology Clinic in Portland OR. and we have submitted claims from both of these Vets. Healthy Paws always provided prompt and caring service.

Takes about 25-30 days before you’re reimbursed for claims. Coverage is ok, not exceptional. Currently looking for better coverage for my toy poodle.

Misleading & Misrepresented Coverage
The people at Trupanion are great and friendly however the insurance misrepresents what they cover and is open to interpretation which is very confusing as a customer! One item they will not cover is behaviour based issues that happen prior to enrolment. For example - if you have a new puppy and they ingest things like chocolate and you go to the vet - they will consider this preexisting and not pay any claims for the life of the dog related to this. Which is ridiculous. Eating things that fall on the floor is normal puppy behaviour/normal dog behaviour. So now we’ve put a claim forward and it’s not covered even though the one instance, all we did was call the vet to ask what we should do and because it was noted in the file, it is considered preexisting. I would look elsewhere at other insurers and make sure you ask the right questions! We thought we had but clearly, we did not! Didn’t help that they basically state they cover almost everything…except when you actually need it.

Our dog Jo has an ongoing shoulder issue for almost 2 years Pets Best has been nothing but amazing in covering her claims. We’re not talking about a small claim either.
