When I lost my first cat
When I lost my first cat, Little Cat, I was distraught. Trupanion immediately cancelled my policy as soon as they heard from my vet, meaning I didn't have to do anything. That was good because having to cancel her policy would have been an added burden at a difficult time. They also sent me a very nice condolence message. When I got my new cats, Maisie and Mindy, it never occurred to me to go anywhere but Trupanion for their care.

I am very happy with Healthpaws pet insurance. I have had it for all my dogs for years. Easy to file a claim on line and prompt reimbursement. If you need to contact a person there is someone available that can answer your questions.

Scam Company, Run Away!!!
All of these reviews are most likely FAKE! This company only pays small bills but as soon as a big accident happens they will come out and look for ANYTHING to decline you claims and to not pay for ANYTHING!!! Keep you money and run away from these thieves!

My wife had a kidney transplant on…
My wife had a kidney transplant on 10/3/2020 and wanted a puppy for Christmas. We adopted Callie Christmas week. She is a soft coated Wheaton Terrier who had born on 10/7. My vet recommended Trupanion and we signed on in February I believe. Because she was a pup, Callie had the habit of eating grass and pebbles, despite the muzzle we put on her. Since then she has had some gastro problems. Trupanion has refuse to cover ANY of the bills. We are going to change vets, and condemn Trupanion vehemently!

This was the first time in 5 years I needed to make a claim, they were wonderful. Our puppy got sick on a weekend and we had to use an emergency pet hospital, I couldn’t believe the cost. When I turned in my receipts of almost $5000 Healthy Paws gave me no issues and sent a check within days. I can’t say enough good about them and the great service, I would recommend them to anyone,

Why you want to get this for your pet NOW
My recent experience was a minor one; I called to ask a clerical question and received great service. That being said the REAL experiences that make this my go to and frequently recommended company are these: 2am emergency room visits where Trupanion authorized funding for treatment of between $1,200 to $2,300 ON THE SPOT. My pets have gotten treatment while I had the heart breaking experience of listening to other owners have to wait, or make medical decisions for their pets based on financial considerations, including euthanasia. Not so fun fact: even if you have access to a couple of grand in the bank or on a card, they are not necessarily going to transfer it to the vet in the middle of the night. I hear so many stories about sick or injured pets that owners are struggling to save, but are having trouble affording care. I have my policy set at 90% reimbursement. If you have a pet, get it insured BEFORE there is an emergency. You will thank yourself when you are able to tell a Vet "My pet is insured. Do whatever you need to". Watch the Vet sigh and watch their shoulders drop and enjoy them saying they "Will do everything they can to help your pet."
