Great company and customer service
My first experience with pet insurance and Fetch was excellent. Easy to get thru to talk with an agent and very quick and responsible for claims processing and payments. I cannot say enough about my positive interactions and claim handling with this company. They do a great job with customer service!

The best pet insurance ever...
My telephone assistance was very helpful and caring. The insurance covered all the things I expected and more. My vet has access to the Trupanion portal so they file the claim. Trupanion responds quickly with reimbursement to me. My cat has diabetes and this coverage is literally a life saver

Trupanion is only useful to those who…
Trupanion is only useful to those who obtain a policy for their animal at the earliest age possible. If you don't, they will utilize the medical records the animal has had, then put a "blanket" for all pre-existing conditions to avoid paying anything. Unfortunately, they will avoid paying as much as possible while taking money. It is at this point you are paying for them to deny every claim you submit.

The mode of this company is to deny very claim. When I followed up on the last claim that say it was due to a wellness exam when clearly the invoice said VCA Emergency Animal Hospital. They are only a 911 center not a vet that would do wellness visits. After speaking with the rep he stated I need to send in the complete medical records for their review. They took this amount and applied towards my deductible. Now looking back at previous claims that were denied, I was so busy I missed it. I just emailed them as the last invoice was for a injury as well. These are types of companies that give insurance companies a bad name. The last pet insurance company I was with wonderful.

Pet claims made easy
I have tried others in the past, but Healthy Paws really is the best. The big draw for them, aside from speedy claims, is that they don't raise rates as your pet gets older and they don't kick you off at a certain age. They're pretty responsive by email, also. No idea how they do it.

Trupanion is happy to take money but would not pay anything
I paid for this insurance for about a year for my 2 young (4 year old) shelties...around $125 a month. I faxed in several claims for different conditions-each of which they denied. I didn't realize they go back at least 18 months, and if any symptom has ever been mentioned to my vet-Trupanion will call it 'precondition' and not payable. For ex, I wanted to get a prescription and diet for my dog for possible allergies. I had once mentioned a year earlier to my previous vet-that my dog was scratching, but my vet did not offer any medical advice. Because of this-Trupanion would not cover anything related to allergies. They cover next to nothing-not physical exams, not specialist consultations, not dental cleaning, mostly they look for ways not to pay. My dogs were not hit by cars or anything-so maybe they may have paid for something if I had continued to pay $125/month hoping they would have a catastrophic accident.

Trupanion takes no action to help customers for "services not received"
I brought to Trupanion's attention that I have been funding a policy that I just recently came to learn I have no ability to collect on if there were ever a claim. I asked Trupanion to please correct the error in policy owner name since the dog insured was my dog (always was and continues to be) but they refused. I then asked them to stop pulling the recurring payment from my banking account which they also refused. I tried to close my banking account but because of the recurring payment, I couldn't. I now have a claim in with my bank and have continued to appeal to Trupanion including asking to file a formal complaint, speak with their legal department, etc., all to no avail. DON"T USE THIS INSURANCE COMPANY. THEY PURPETRATE FRAUD AND WILL NOT STOP TAKING MONEY FROM YOUR ACCOUNT EVEN WHEN YOU ASK THEM TO CANCEL THE POLICY.
