We are grateful for this insurance plan…

We are grateful for this insurance plan for all of our animals. The processing time is often completed within the 10 day window, but many times it does take a week or two longer. I would like to submit feedback in regards to filling out the claim forms. It would be much easier to fill out the forms online, rather than printing a form, filling it out by hand, then scanning the form to submit. Also, if the Veterinary information box could have a slide down option to choose a vet, rather than filling that information in every time. The space provided in the printable forms is very small.

Good with multiple invoice pages

The claim submission process handles multiple invoice pages really well. My invoice was emailed to me as one .pdf. Even though it had more than one page the web site handled it and recognized both pages.

Sadly gone WAY downhill

Sadly, Healthy Paws has gone WAY downhill. I've been with the company for about 12 years and they have always paid out for my cat, and paid out quickly so that is what gets the three stars but EVERYTHING else gets a zero star. Let's start with premiums—they go up over 100% a year. I started out paying about $20 a month and now am at about $100 a month for an indoor cat. They moved their customer service abroad somewhere so now it is TERRIBLE. One of the things I loved about the company was its well-spoken, knowledgeable service reps. Now it is people you can hardly understand, who are in a loud room with tons of other people, and they read off scripts. They also just hang up on you if you ask anything at all that is slightly complicated. You will also wait on the phone interminably and listen to extremely LOUD rock music. Take the day off work so you can deal with any Healthy Paws calls. They do not have a chat and you can email them but they just don't answer emails. AWFUL. The website. You can't "add a pet." The button is there but if you try to do it, you're told you need to start a new account from a new email. Why? Who knows. You can't upload photos of your pet. Again, the button is there but if you try to do it, nothing happens. This has been the last two cats I've tried to add pictures for. It also put in an incorrect address into the system for some reason, yet they refuse to allow you to correct it for a month. Bizarro "reasons" will follow. I used to recommend the company to everyone as I rescue and adopt out cats but won't be anymore.

The representative was wonderful but service after my contact with her could be better

The representative was wonderful. I’m just not sure what happens next. I got an email saying someone was contacting my vet. That’s good but nothing since then but I think a payment was charged against my card. So do I have insurance or not. Better communication after the initial contact would be nice

Filing a claim was easy Peezy.

I thought making a claim online would be a pain in the neck because I’m not that tech savvy. I found filing a claim with Embrace to be easy and quick, which was a big relief for me. I made my claim and within days I had money deposited into my account. The customer service was great, efficient and very friendly. I was totally impressed by my experience and I am very happy with Embrace Pet insurance

Time We wouldn’t have had

Trupanion is giving us time with our dog that we would never had had otherwise. When our 4 year old Great Dane was diagnosed with lymphoma, she was given 1-2 weeks without treatment or 4-6 months with chemotherapy. After losing our older dog just a month ago, we were completely cash strapped. I’m so grateful that this expensive treatment is covered so we can spend some quality time and ensure our pup is comfortable and happy.

Very convenient and overall simple to use and good value generally

The convenience of the app and its simple user interface makes for an overall pleasant claims submission process; with prices that aren't exorbitant so one can see where there is value. The only reason I must take off one star is because of a claims issue where the individual looking over my claim used a very broad strokes approach when reviewing my claim which required me to have to write a letter and petition to have it reviewed once more. The issue was the broad strokes approach used didn't even bother to use any discernment to distinguish between one diagnosis and another and simply lumped it all together as one medical issue. Them having conflated two separate issues as one, I could have ended up paying everything out of pocket. Even having explained to a representative on the phone the response was less than pleasant or acceptable. Having to make the case for myself when they had all the medical records was indeed frustrating and a reminder that you should pay attention and keep notes of your veterinary visits and any past emergencies or medical conditions. While its a great thing to be insured in case of emergencies, one can soon be disillusioned by the reality of how insurance companies can and often operate. On that one occasion where the experience was less than stellar, I could not help but lose a bit of that confident feeling that they are here for your pet's well-being. Overall however things have usually gone on without much issue and as simple as a few clicks.
