Overall a great experience with its flaws

Overall, Embrace has been amazing. It's on the higher end of premium costs compared to others, so with that, I expect higher service and they have definitely delivered on that. We have had a policy with them since 2019 and have only had 1 or 2 "issues" and it's really just been with the claims person who was handling our claim. I won't get into detail because I truly think it was her lack of effort, not the company as a whole. Embrace makes it VERY easy to submit claims and they process them quickly. Like in less than 24 hours. This is new and improved but it matches the service I expect for my monthly premium cost. Their online portal is easy to use and overall we are happy with them! We get a discount for being USAA customers, so I would see if your current insurance plan has a deal with them as well!

Best coverage

I took my dog "Porkchop" for emergency surgery and paid next to nothing because of the coverage I had with Spot Pet Insurance. I'm incredibly grateful for their help and ease with submitting the claim and getting reimbursed so quickly.

Scam

I pay 150 a month for one dog. I use to have two with Figo but since moved one to nationwide for a fraction of the price that covers way more. Due to olives skin conditions we have to stay with Figo. However I don’t know why. They don’t reimburse anything at all. I still don’t even get the point of pet insurance over priced long wait times to get crumbs back and bad customer service. Stay away. Just put money aside every month for your beloved pet. These people are scam artist.

Trupanion is the best!

My Vet recommended Trupanion as soon as I got my French bull dog. The breed is known to have health issues and the hospital and vet bills are very costly. Trupanion is very easy to file a claim on-line. You will get an immediate response followed by payment. I can't say enough good things about this insurance company!

Terrible service and expensive

Terrible service and expensive. Getting a procedure pre-approved takes weeks, getting reimbursed for a pre-approved procedure just as long, because they’ll try to classify everything done as a separate condition for which your deductible applies. You can easily end up with a vet bill over 1k and Trupanion paying nothing or close to nothing. You’ll spend your time getting them to do their job and my busy vet has to do the same. They’ll never wait a day for their money because they draft it, but good luck if you or your vet wait for payment from them. My vet does not accept payment from them and I wouldn’t either, I’d want to get paid in a timely manner. I’ll never insure another dog with them and go with a company that does one yearly deductible.

Excellent service

I cannot say enough about the help from everyone I dealt with at Trupanion. The ease of processing my claim for Missy's treatment was exceptional. Everyone was concerned about Missy and always asked me how she was doing after her emergency surgery. Thank you all so much!

We got Trupanion when we got our puppy…

We got Trupanion when we got our puppy thinking that Golden Retrievers are high risk for all sorts of issues. We started off paying $26.76/mo. with a $1,000 deductible when she was 1 year old. A year later, they upped it to $31.90. A year after that, another bump to $33.85. A month later, they upped it again to $34.72. 6-1/2 years later, we're paying $37.89. Our dog is doing great, but had a lump on her back and a growth in her mouth and discoloration on her nose. We took her to the Vet to get them checked out, and they gave us an estimate which we sent to Trupanion. Over $1000 bill and said they wouldn't pay a thing. We had the surgery done, sent them our receipt, again, true to their word, they didn't pay. We've paid over $3000 in monthly payments and when we needed them, they wouldn't pay. We're canceling our subscription and not throwing more money after bad. It's a scam. Don't fall for it. Save the money you would otherwise pay Trupanion and use it when you need it. Up to this point we would have had to have over $4300 in medical bills for our dog just to break EVEN. And even then they pay only 90% of costs after that leaving you with paying 10% for the remainder of the medical. And if a DIFFERENT condition comes up, then you have to start all over again with the $1000 deductible. It's a scam. Don't pay. I'd give negative 5 stars if I could.
