My first time ever filing a claim and was pleasantly surprised when my reimbursement was deposited in three days! Very happy with coverage, cost and service.

BEWARE. I never write reviews but this needed one.
I never write reviews, ever. But, this calls for one. My dog has developed separation anxiety. He is one. Before talking to my vet, I contacted a Trupanion customer service representative to ask if the medication I am considering is covered and to look at my plan to ensure things are in place to go forward smoothly as this was my first time making a claim. I have had Trupanion since my dog was 8 weeks old to make sure nothing was pre-existing. I was told that everything was good and I just had to work my way up to the $700 deductible and then my medication would be covered 90%. This was a lie. I woke up today to an email explaining that my dog would not be covered as apparently I needed to purchase a specific rider policy for separation anxiety 30 days into starting my Trupanion account for my dog. I was NOT told this. I am now on a medication that is $127 a month for my dog (AFTER BEING ENSURED ALL WAS IN PLACE AND GOOD TO PROCEED) that will not be covered in any way as either way I cannot add the rider to my plan and it is now considered a pre-existing condition. Absolutely ridiculous. Talk to multiple representatives before starting a medication to make sure you aren’t in the same boat as me. Apparently that’s needed. Very angry and upset with the service and lack of transparency.

Great protection for your pet
Lemonade provides a seamless experience fueled by great technology. The claim process is easy and efficient. Everything is submitted via the app and my claims have been processed very quickly, some immediately! Best Insurance Company Iâve Dealt With
Itâs slower, lately, compared to previous years. I also had to call bc things that had previously been covered were rejected. It got cleared up but it just seems like things are changing there. I am a true Trupanion fan though and always recommend to clients at work. My dogâs policy saved her life and keeps her comfortable & I let everyone know. This isnât a complaint, just an observation.
