Didn’t cover my claims, even an emergency claim
I didn’t have a positive experience with Trupanion. The largest single veterinary cost for my dog - surgery for a luxated patella - was not covered due to it being an existing condition. The surgery cost $3,000 and Trupanion didn’t help with a cent. Then when I had an $800 emergency vet visit, they also refused to pay a single cent because it didn’t meet the “per-condition lifetime deductible.” I feel nickled and dimed by this company. I think it it more cost effective for pet owners to just save money on your own vs getting “insurance” to cover unexpected vet bills. So I am cancelling my policy with them today, and do not recommend Trupanion.

Glad I had Embrace pet insurance. Embrace honored the claim and quickly paid for my dog’s operation. The Customer service was always good and helped guide us through this process.
