I am happy with Embrace!
I am happy with Embrace though these would be fair changes to see in future. Faster turn around for reimbursement. Direct payment of promised coverage from Embrace to Vet on the day of appointment would be the best case scenario. Sometimes for surgery, x ray , etc it’s too costly up front for pet owners.

Figo has denied every single claim
Figo has denied to help pay for every single claim we've ever submitted to them. No matter what the issue has been, they decide they have all been related to our dog having allergies, and that being a preexisting condition that she already had. Even our vet sent an email on our behalf to let them know that one of her issues was completely unrelated to allergies, they still refused to cover anything.

Sydney has been helpful on more than one occasion at answering my questions, helping me navigate the site, and generally being an all around kind human. This type of service helps build trust and will definitely keep us with AKC Pet Insurance.

Horrible experience
The insurer kept contacting the veterinarian, asking for the same information over and over, which was provided. They would then say the they didn't have enough information to process the claim. It took forever to obtain reimbursement. The office manager at my veterinary hospital spent multiple calls and many minutes trying to satisfy the insurer. I would not recommend them to anyone. I switched to a more expensive provider with a better track record, even though I would lose pre-existing coverage.

Susan - we apologize for any frustration during the processing of your claims. As per the policy we do require medical records for all enrolled pets in order to process claims. Once full records are received (typically we ask for them when you file your first few claims) we will keep them on file for future claims processing and you will never have to submit full records again. In the future, if we do need clarification for a specific claim, we may simply request the date of service exam notes for that visit. We appreciate your efforts to provide those records. We now have full records on file for your pet and your claim has been completed. You should receive your Explanation of Benefits in the next 24-48 hours.
After posting this review, Healthy Paws contacted me and rectified the situation. Once you get someone's attention, they were really wonderful! In fact, I would increase my rating, if I could edit it.
Fast and easy claims!
We’ve had Figo insurance for almost a year now and so happy we signed up! Both of our dogs ended up having multiple visits to the vet towards the end of last year and it was such a relieve to be able to get them the tests and procedures that they needed without worrying about the money. One dog had a broken tooth (which dentals are EXPENSIVE) and the other had a foxtail removal and digestive issues that had to be addressed. The process to submit claims is super fast and easy on their app or website. The longest we had to wait for a claim to be closed and paid was maybe about 2 weeks at the start because we needed to get them all the vet records from before starting the insurance. Once that was dealt with, all other claims have been closed and paid within a week at the most. We also have the Wellness add-on option and we have been reimbursed for preventative stuff like heart-worm tests and vaccines. Just yesterday, one of our dogs got the test and vaccines and the claim was approved the same day! We are very happy with the insurance so far and definitely plan on renewing!
