Purchased spot pet insurance two years…
Purchased spot pet insurance two years ago. We have sold our pet and now cannot cancel our policy because they will not pick up their phone calls, or my emails are unable to send . I’ve tried changing my password that isn’t possible either. I had to go through my bank to stop payment which cost me additional money.

I had to call Trupanion Customer Service twice to get an update on my claim that was taking a long time to be settled. The first time I called it was more than 3 weeks after I submitted the claim. They said it would be another 7-10 days, and they were waiting for my dogs’ records from her Vet. They had already received them the week prior. I called a second time after the 10 days had passed, and the Rep said it would probably be another few days or so. I asked how many days, and she would not give me a definitive answer. All I was expecting was an honest timeframe. I have submitted claims with Trupanion several times during my senior dogs’ lifetime, and they have been settled within one to two weeks. Not this time! And the communication was not up to their normal standards. Frustrating and disappointing.

This is the absolute worst insurance
This is the absolute worst insurance. My dog's coverage began in November 2022. In January 2023, I took her in for hair loss spots. They gave her allergy pills to try; although, it wasn't confirmed that was the issue since she had no other symptoms. Claim was denied due to being pre-existing. I've NEVER taken her in for hair loss. I took her in twice (back to back) at the end of January because she was extremely ill, throwing up and had flu-like symptoms. Claim was denied due to being pre-existing. The first visit of those two days was listed as allergies, also, when it was very clear she was in there due to being sick. How is it possible for a gastrointestinal illness to be a pre-existing condition? Needless to say, I will not be renewing this policy. Big scam. They take your money and deny claims. UPDATE: Because my dog had an ear swab for an ear infection prior to the policy, they denied her recent visit when they swabbed her ears to rule out an ear infection. So they basically will attribute any type of sickness as pre-existing, even though it's an illness that can happen multiple times and is not related to any previous instances. THIS COMPANY IS A TOTAL SCAM!! I wish we could respond to their ridiculous answer, which shows that they are a scam, because any type of illness will always be considered pre-existing, even if it's the flu. They are a SCAM. They take your money and deny your claims. And their "chat" doesn't work. You sit there forever only to get it canceled and told to call in.

Thank Goodness for Healthy Paws!
Without pet insurance, I would be broke, really broke! My little Loki developed bad hot spots and went on permanent injections that forever cured him. What a happy guy! The eight week lifetime injections are very expensive. In what, three clicks I think, Healthy Paws reimburses directly into my bank account. Boom, done. Of course Loki's had run-ins with porcupines and what-not, living up here in Maine where we tend to the woods for daily long walks. Then he tore his CCL (like an ACL knee in humans). $6000 later but no worries, we're 90% covered by Healthy Paws so we took the BEST surgery option for our little bug. No questions asked, Healthy Paws reimbursed my account in just two days. Boom. Pet insurance is WAY cheaper than unexpected vet bills, especially persistent ones, and especially here up north, and although my work offers a discounted plan with another company, we like our choice of Healthy Paws so we're sticking with them.

Would highly recommend ASPCA insurance
I have had nothing but positive experiences with ASPCA Pet Insurance. No hassles. Quick response times. Payouts directly to my bank account. This is my first experience with pet insurance. I have a cat with a chronic condition and they have really come through for me with his bills. I would definitely recommend them.

Unprofessional and unethical
Pet parents, please don't waste your time with the company. We have already had so much to deal with. I am not sure why SPOT has good reviews when my experience was totally opposite. I am a retired nurse, and this is an honest opinion. Took my dog in to the urgent care, because she coughed blooded 2 days earlier. The vet asked me when did I started seeing my dog cough. I told the vet that it could be a couple of months ago due to the Wildfire but that was very minor. Or it could have been the virus from the groomer (being close to other dogs). I wasn't sure. However, this was a loud cough with blood, that has never happened before. The vet couldn't find anything wrong with her. Cough suppressant was prescribed. Found out my family and I had Covid. The illness was considered pre-existing condition because I told the vet that the cough might start from wildfire a couple of month ago. I wrote on the claim that my family had COVID and ready to show proves. They assume that both coughs are related eventhough the professional didn't have the answer. The vet didn't test my dog for COVID as we didn't know we had COVID. The first incident or symptom (pre-existing) should be coughing blood not coughing. This is unprofessional and unethical.

Fast, caring and reliable.
Healthy paws provides a level of coverage for Vinny that allows me to never hesitate on seeking the best care available, this gives me the reassurance that Vinny will always be on the most qualified hands without destroying my wallet (let's be real I'd give the world for him insurance or not).

for one thing that need to stop …doesn't cover anything
for one thing that need to stop advertising their insurance incorrectly. They claim to cover all emergency visits but they are not being honest. They let our Baby die and wouldn't even give us a courtesy email to deny us. just nothing and now they are giving us crap about paying back the 90% of a 5500.00 vet bill. they took out money for 2 accounts for the same pet for 2 years and if we hadn't caught it they still would be. my dog died because these people would not help us. don't get this insurance it doesn't do what it says it will.
