Very Positive Claims Experience
We have a seven-year-old Great Pyrenees who has been dealing with possible cancer issues since June 2022, We have put in numerous claims so far for his prescriptions, and our claims are handled professionally and with compassion. Just make sure you include the paperwork asked for to help speed up the reimbursement process.

So Thankful we had Trupanion!
Trupanion has been insuring our pack now for years. Premiums seem expensive..... until you have a claim that is, then they seem so worth it! Recently one of our dogs had to have surgery to remove a large tumor on her adrenal gland. Total costs for the testing, diagnosis and surgery came to $10,581. Of that Trupanion reimbursed us $8610 (81.4%) :) Without this insurance the surgery and testing would have been cost prohibitive. Thankfully, surgery went very well and we can now share more quality time with our girl. Claims process went quickly with minimal "additional proof items" required. Overall, a painless process! When I called to get clarification on what additional items they needed I got to speak with a real person who was very helpful. What a concept! My recommendation to all pet owners. Insure your pets early in life before preexisting conditions develop. Paying premiums may seem painful until you have a claim then it will have been well worth it! Just do it! you will be so thankful you did.

Signed up for two dogs. Only one policy shows up online. Emailed customer service, they said there may be a computer glitch. Coming up on one month and no policy.

Don’t buy…
We have 2 pets on this insurance one of them had a issue supposedly mouth infection and the vet they send em out without medication didnt notifed us about the issue 4 months later they he’d to extract 4 tooth’s 2 months prior to this we add it pet insurance tired going to the vet and pay 5-6 hundred dollars every time went there couple of times our deduction was 500 and they approved the 2 visits when he got his tooth pulled they asked for the records just to find a loop whole so they don’t want to pay and since this was existing they didn’t covered when he went back for blood work to check how was he doing they didn’t covered that even since this was connected to that they didn’t approved this either I payed almost 14 hundred dolllars for the year and they won’t cover anything I cancelled Don’t get robbed they always look for a loop whole

Worst experience
Worst experience, adopted pet with MetLife pet insurance, dog got sick after 24hours, MetLife refused coverage saying it was a "pre-existing condition". Called shelter to let them know they should stop using MetLife, they couldn't believe they considered it pre-existing. Horrible customer service.
