can use any vet
can use any vet, great. so far claims have returned less than 10% of the vet fees paid. Not much is covered for one of the most expensive options I took

Waste of time and money. Scammers
I subscribed in end of 2012/early 2022. Everything went well. Until I made a claim. I had joined all the proper documentation. I had no answer. After my second or third follow-up I received an email saying that my claim was denied without any explanation. I asked for a feedback but nothing. I sent at least 20 emails and tried calling but nothing (their call center says at 3:00p.m. that their call center is closed and regular hours are from 8:00 to 8:00 p.m.!!!). No one picks up. After I threatened to cancel I received a single answer explaining the cancelation policy. I paid for more than 1 year for nothing. Complete scammers!!! If I could give 0 out pf 5 I would gladly do it

Promo wasnât great
Because when I went to the vet I asked the secretary about insurance. She gave me an pamphlet and said it s all in here I asked about the promotion she said all in the pamphlet. Took the pamphlet home look thrus it trying to decide. A month or so later decided to get it. So I called the vet to get more information about the promo. She wasnât very on the ball about the promo she put me on hold came back to tell me the promo was expired because I had 24 hours de decide. Today I still donât know what the promo was and maybe I would have decided earlier and she told me I donât qualified so it wasnât great

Excellent experience
My dog had a stroke, needed extensive, expensive tests that without Trupanion, I would have had a difficult time approving. Then he stayed in the hospital for a week. Then 4 weeks later when I took him for shots, he was found to be bleeding internally so back to the hospital for tests and hospital treatment for another week. This also proved successful, but he remained on high doses of expensive medications.that took one year to wean from. During that year Trupanion covered the monthly blood tests, medications and Dr visits. Trupanion saved my dogs life and saved me many thousands of dollars.

When our cat swallowed a bunch of rubber bands, we were warned by the hospital that the bill would be substantial. "We want her to receive the best care — and we're insured," I replied. Pets Best did not let us down, and reimbursed us promptly for all covered costs. The best news is that our cat recovered promptly!
