Best decision I ever made!
Trupanion is honestly the best purchase I ever made in my entire life. I looked into many policies when I knew I was going to be bringing a puppy home. Trupanion was a little more expensive but I wholeheartedly believe it’s worth every penny. I was hoping I would get trupanion but not really need to use it, I’d rather by dog be healthy and have it as a “just in case.” Unfortunately, my pup grew up to have a horribly sensitive tummy and pretty bad allergies. It has resulted in many vet visits and allergy shots which has all been covered. I kept my deductible low so it’s all been affordable. It’s great to have peace of mind knowing I can take my dog to the vet right away instead of playing the waiting game, praying they’ll get better because you’re scared of the vet bills. I lost a dog that way. Never again. Trupanion comes through every time. The customer service is amazing, they repay you very promptly, I have only had one issue but it was resolved very quickly and it was because my vet entered some information wrong. They are so so so great! I tell everyone I can about them. Worth every penny and better than any insurance plan out there. Every other plan has exceptions including healthy paws. Not trupanion! Get it for your pet asap so you won’t have preexisting conditions to worry about! You won’t regret it.

I insured my Maltese dog since she was a puppy. That was 12 years ago. Sadly, she passed away this week. My heart is broken, but at least I know that I tried everything to give her a great life and extend it as much as I could. Trupanion was very fast with approvals and payments. What they state is true. They will not deny a valid claim-ever. My fur baby had surgery on her leg, teeth extractions and many tests done for her enlarged heart. She lived another year after being diagnosed with heart disease. In addition, Trupanion will cover any expenses in the US. In the last couple of years I would stay in the US for a few months every year. I brought my girl with me every time. Trupanion is also present in the US and will cover you in some other countries as well. I was able to have the large medical bills direct billed in the US at the end of my baby's life. I didn't have the funds to spend thousands of dollars on hospital care upfront. Trupanion made it easy with billing. I told the pet hospital about our experience and they stated that when people ask about insurance, they will start referring Trupanion. I told every pet owner I know about the importance of insurance and my experience. I will forever treasure the time that I was able to spend with my fur baby thanks to the medical care that she was able to receive.

Failure to create password; web site dysfunctional
I tried to log in and set up a password for my account. The website would not take my password despite repeated attempts first by myself and then with the assistance of a very pleasant and helpful staff member over the phone. Multiple attempts ended in abject failure and significant frustration.

Our lives are forever financially damaged from Pets Best
We ordered our policy on the phone and requested the highest level of coverage in 2016 when we got our pup. We requested the highest level of payment at 90/10 the lowest deductible at $100 and we requested unlimited coverage and ordered both wellness coverage and accident coverage. They explained that you could always lower coverage but never add on so we requested the best coverage for everything that they sold. We were assured the monthly premiums would never be based on our claims but rather on the community costs for our location and they assured us 10% increase was the most they had ever had from year to year and sometimes it would go down rather than up depending on the community costs. This sounds great but it didn't happen. Our monthly premiums were raised so high each year as much as 35% increase in one calendar year, and they changed our coverage to 5K in error. When we requested the phone records to prove our higher coverage they would say they were ordered yet they let one year after another pass without helping us. We filed a better business bureau complaint but they didn't produce the original records and just denied. They will price you out so that you basically have a savings program instead of insurance financial help. Our 6 year old was at $137 per month even after we dropped wellness coverage. By the time your dog is 10 you can expect the fees to be so high you won't have coverage. Our dog got Leukemia and they are paying only after fees and deductions around 2500 when the chemo and treatment will be 26K and stem cell 48K to 86K. All of the patients at oncology are getting full coverage for their cancer dogs with their trupanion insurance and we are left to pay all the costs out of our pocket because Pets Best falsified our coverage. We challenged their error in our records for years before the cancer diagnosis and now we will be in debt and asking for help thru go fund me. Don't let this happen to you. You can't change your insurance once your pet gets a diagnosis for any illness as it will be precluded for your new insurance. Its imperative that you make the right decision from day one that you get your furbaby and I assure you Pets Best is not going to protect your pet.
