Reimburses nothing.
Money spent on this insurance for one 1 year old dog over 2 years: $2,000+. Money reimbursed when my dog got lepto or had any ear infection or literally anything: $0 The company refers to everything as a preexisting condition (even a virus such as leptospirosis) and responds with chatGTP emails that do not address the concern presented to them.a pain to deal with. I would stay far away. You will end up losing much more money than you could ever end up spending in the case of sickness. Positive reviews are surely fake. This is a scam Follow up reply to Pumpkin’s response. I did speak with the “customer service” agents particularly one agent named Andrianna Quiñones who refused to answer my question on whether they view the virus Leptospirosis as a pre existing condition (which by the way was NOT present in anyway for a year after our insurance was instated.) Her responses were automatic replies and unhelpful. The company is very very incompetent.

Trupanion will raise your rates !
Trupanion will raise your rates !! I have been with Trupanion now for a long time and have never had to use their services but they raise your rates anyway and punish you. You would think they would lower your monthly rate. Just another insurance company ripping you off.

Overall
I have Trupanion on my min pin and yorkie. Unfortunately, both have had to use it. The first time (min pin) was great as far as speed of review and getting the money back; however, the deductible was $150 more than expected. When I called and asked why, they said it was because we had a promo month free because our vet was affiliated with them, and the deductible was higher that first month. Ok, fine, but that should have been disclosed when I signed up. Other than that, it was great! The second time was the yorkie, a couple weeks ago. The refund process took WAY longer than expected. Granted, it was apparently due to system upgrades or changes, but the communication on it wasn’t the best. The positives, the customer service is AMAZING, very kind and caring. The pricing is really good. My vet is working on getting set up to bill Trupanion directly, so hopefully I won’t have to deal with the delays much longer.
