I called to cancel the pet insurance on my GSD who had passed away suddenly. My GSD never used the insurance, but I was pleased with the updates and the ease of paying the bill each month. Will recommend to other pet owners.

Time for a new insurance provider
I’ve used Trupanion for a few years now and up until now I’ve always appreciated their quick payments, never had a payment come more than a week after filing a claim. That all changed with my most recent claim. Claim was filed on June 6, and was finally approved for payment on July 9. Previously all I needed to submit was the invoice from the vet (Vet was great BTW), this time they requested additional information to prove the bill was paid. This was 2 weeks after I submitted my initial claim. I submitted my credit card statement showing payment. Another 2 weeks go by and I was asked who the payment should go to, me or the vet. I would assume the initial credit card statement would have been enough to show the payment should go to me. I submitted another credit statement, and then finally received approval for payment a few days later. My other issue is that I initially brought my dog to the vet to have a foxtail removed from his nose. I figured since they were going to put him under for that to go ahead and have a small mass in his mouth removed as well. When I received my approval for payment I see that they used the $200 deductible twice! Once for the foxtail and once for the mass removal. It was all one procedure, why the double deductible? Like the title states, it’s time to search for a new pet insurance provider.

I submitted a claim a month ago and it hasn’t been resolve at this time. It is taking way too long to have my issue resolved. I received an email over a week ago apologizing for the time that is taking but it is still not resolved. If it is not resolved within the next week I will be looking for another pet insurance.

So far, very good
MET Pet has been great. A couple of general suggestions - 1. If you can, get insurance when your pet is under 1 year. 2. Always provide vet's notes when you submit your claim. 3. Purchase the preventive option if you can afford it. This will encourage you to keep up to date on all preventive care.

We have been insured with fetch for…
We have been insured with fetch for many years. We have made 1 or two claims in the past. We made one large claim for our cat this year and you jacked our rate up so high in response that it is borderline unaffordable. We can’t switch insurers because this will be considered preexisting. So we are stuck with an unaffordable policy. This is not insurance if you just jack up the rate to make all your money back within a year each time there is a claim. You should rethink your way of doing business. It’s not the right way to treat long time customers.
