Hidden fineprints to exclude most of common sense items

1) Your websites says "No Per Incident Caps". However, you did not reimburse the full amount charged by the vet. 2) Your website says "Depending on your plan, deductible, and reimbursement options, up to 100% of your dog's vet bills may be reimbursed." This is incorrect because even if I had a different plan, my expenses would not be covered 100% due to your hidden fine prints. 3) Insurance plan says "Vet Exam Fees for Accident and Illness visits. This is also incorrect because my claim was for consultation, diagnostics and treatment of my pet, beyond preventive care, and still it was not covered. -- Since there was no place to reply to Figo's last comment. I am putting it here. I have forwarded case details to support at figopetinsurance.com and will update here about what they do about this case.

Read the fine print!

Read the fine print! I've been a customer for years and when I finally needed insurance to help, I was left on the hook. I took the cat for her annual checkup and dentistry appointment, unfortunately she needed an extraction. I thought I was going to be fine as insurance should have covered it. But, as stated in PetsBest's policy: "your Pet's teeth must have been cleaned and examined under general anesthesia by a Veterinarian in the thirteen months before the date of service for the Periodontal Disease claim". Her last examination & cleaning under anesthesia was 14 months prior thus my claim wasn't covered. I barely missed the window by just a bit and now I'm left on the hook for the ENTIRE bill. What a shame, unless you're putting your pet under anesthesia on a yearly basis (not a great idea if you've an aging pet), it's very possible that you'll miss the window to file claims as well. It feels almost unreasonable that they set these strict criteria for coverage. I did find the process to submit a claim rather easy though, so I'll give them that. 1.5 stars --------- In regard to your reply, Thank you for responding. However, this boiler-plate response is representative of my qualms with the company policies. My pet was indeed free of any signs of Periodontal Disease prior to the Policy Effective Date and waiting Period. And since the age of three, my pet's teeth have been cleaned and examined under general anesthesia by a veterinarian routinely. However, this last date of service for the Periodontal Disease claim where an extraction was necessary was 14 months ago and thus missed the mark just barely. I feel that your policy of 13 months is set to give minimal leeway to patients and deliberately absolves you of your responsibility.
