Trupanion

On June 6th my adopted rescue, Luca, was diagnosed with a transitional carcinoma in her right nostril. For reasons involving expediency and the type of radiation therapy available, I chose to take her to PetCure Oncology in Pittsburgh instead of seeking treatment in Canada. The care we received was extraordinary and Trupanion was beside us the entire time. Everything they said they would cover under the terms of our policy was covered. The claims process was simple to navigate, and the funds were deposited into my bank account before I even left Pittsburgh. Versatility in terms of being able to adjust my deductible higher to reduce monthly premiums was one of the things that drew me to Trupanion in the first place. This experience told me that I made the right choice for a lot of other reasons. Stress levels can be elevated when your best friend is not well; I'm glad we had a Tru friend along for the ride.

Best Pet Decision Ever

We are so glad we got pet insurance! Vet visits are not cheap but are necessary. We have been so impressed by how easy it is to file a claim and how quickly ASPCA Pet Insurance completes the claim and reimburses us. We’ve filed claims for regular visits as well as emergency care and have never had a problem. It is such peace of mind to know our dog is covered when something comes up.

I have been a customer of theirs for a long while years now. This companies prices are pretty good. They come through pretty fast with the bills that are sent to them. So long at it is not an existing condition before you apply for the insurance they are great in covering the situation.

Great customer service

Customer service was really great-friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the product. They gave me detailed information about the way Trupanion plans are structured and never said a bad word about other plans.

I signed up my Boston Terrier Georgy when he was a pup!!

I signed up my Boston Terrier Georgy when he was a puppy in 2013. He was a happy healthy dog and over the years I wondered if Insurance was necessary. But I kept up the payments and sure enough as he hit 7 years old he started with eye issues, then thyroid tumor removal surgery and Trupanion payed their share of the claims. The real blessing we had this insurance was when we went of vacation from Nebraska to Canada. Georgy fell down the stairs, started having seizures and we rushed him to the emergency hospital. After getting scans from the Toronto Animal hospital it was discovered that he had a golf ball size Brain Tumor. Trupanion payed some of our over $12,000 Bills while in Canada. When we returned home Georgy was treated for a year for his cancer by Neurology Clinical trials at CSU FT Collins Colorado. He did well at first but over the last few months he deteriorated as the cancer had spread. The last bills we submitted to Trupanion were for his final scans and his little brain was totally consumed by cancer. We had to put our sweet 10 year old Boston down a few weeks ago. We donated his brain to science research at the CSU Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital. If it were not for Trupanion and the staff that handle claims, Georgy would have never been diagnosed, treated and lived a whole year longer than predicted. We could have never afforded any of these major expenses without this insurance assistance . Thank you from the Ramcharan Family for the services your company provides and for helping keep our pet alive. We miss him terribly, but had so many good years with him.

1st claim out the gate and they deny my claim. My dog had a little diarrhea and needed to see a vet. They said it was a pre existing condition so it wasn’t covered. Any pet can have a bout with Diahrrea. It doesn’t mean it’s permanent. They refused to pay there share so I figured what’s the use and cancelled the policy right away. Pet insurance is a scam

Quick and Easy Claim Submission

The process was simple and relatively quick because it is online, did not require a claim form, and the procedure is split into a series of simple steps (a few questions and uploading an invoice/other documents).

ASPCA

I learned about ASPCA Health Insurance through a partnership it had with the Virginia Association of Realtors. The Policy is supposed to cover some preventative services, as well as illnesses/emergencies. After more than a year when my labrador had several ear infections and allergies, as well as her well-dog check-up, only one of her claims was paid for $130 out of a $600 bill. As a human health policy expert, with many years of experience working in the Congress on Medicare and federal health issues, I can honestly say that ASPCA's advertised benefits are not honest. ASPCA is definitely not worth the premium.
