They'll double your premium after 1 year
I had Embrace pet insurance for 1 year, the rate was roughly $95 a month for both of my dogs. I was about to come up on my 1 year anniversary with Embrace, they sent me an email informing me that my premium would increase from $98 a month to $195 a month. There was no explanation why, of course I called in and spoke with a representative. She informed me it could be that my dogs were a year older and possibly do to my location which did not change. She said I could speak with a licensed agent and adjust my coverage to get my premium down. Obviously I declined, why would I keep insurance with a company that doubles my premium after 1 year of being a customer. I canceled my coverage and will be looking for insurance with a company that treats it's customers right. I'm disgusted with that Ebrace pet insurance and hope whoever is responsible for doubling rates has an awful short life.

I do not like the policy about…pre-existing Conditions
I do not like the policy about pre-existing conditions. It's like they look for anything to deny a claim. It should be like people insurance and they should have a waiting period and then cover certain things.

Wasnt a great help
Too many stipulations on what can be covered for older pets with issues and having to pay a $500 pet deductible before anything is covered defeats the purpose of pet insurance. I will be changing companies once the renewal period arrives. I was referred by USAA but will be writing to them as well to reconsider their partnership for endorsement.

5 star for Ease of Doing Business!!!
I determined that Prudent Pet was not the cheapest pet insurance available, however, it is competitive AND the selling point to me was the ease of getting a claim paid. Prudent Pet basically does all the work once you easily send them the receipts unlike other companies that require the customer to provide medical treatment documentation.

Quick and very easy to submit claims
Embrace made it so easy to file our multiple claims. I was able to track the progress of my claims on their website and see when the claims had been approved. The reimbursement was deposited directly into my checking account and I was able to use it right away. No surprises, no problems. Very easy all the way around.

Easy enrollment and superb customer representative
Phone representative was very knowledgable and quick to answer all of my questions. He walked me through each step and made sure I had a clear understanding of my payment and what Trupanion would financially cover in case of an accident and vet visit. I feel confident that pet and I are well taken care of in case of accident and or injury.

Easy process
Our previous insurer consistently found reasons to limit or deny reimbursements. Even if the vet requested a test or procedure, that company denied coverage. We could only afford accident/preventive care so out-of-pocket expenses were astronomic. Met Life seemed more expensive but has proven to pay for itself. One of our 3 dogs developed aspiration pneumonia and required 3 1/2 days of ICU care; within 3 weeks we'd received 80% reimbursementon a bill of over $5,500.
