Not only covering medically necessary dog food for only 2 months
We have been very happy with Trupanion for about a year now. We were informed on our first visit to our vet that this breed of dog (American bully) that they are a medical nightmare. That is why we started the insurance immediately upon leaving the vet that day. Today I was informed that Trupanion will only cover the dog food that our vet recommended to treat his digestive issues for only 2 months. I don’t understand why they cover it at all. we are not very happy about this after the amount we pay for this insurance 😡. Even after doing a peer to peer review, Trupanion is still not going to cover the dog food. Seriously thinking about finding a new insurance company.

I wish human medical insurance was this easy and reliable
I wish medical insurance for humans was as easy and reliable as Embrace is. My dog has had a mystery illness for 6 months, requiring a dozen clinic visits, specialists, and expensive diagnostics and prescriptions, and Embrace has been with us the whole way, covering every claim without question and giving us so much peace of mind.

Pets Worst review and appeal process
Further to my recent (deliberately scathing) comments re. my two claims against my Pets Best dog insurance policy (policy active for the past six months); The manager (with whom I remonstrated today and who shall remain nameless, at least fo now) signed-off our conversation by referring me to the Pets Best (Pets Worst ?) appeal process. The document (emailed to me by this manager) is clearly written/designed to deter and frustrate any complainant/complaint. It involves numerous steps that require significantly (onerous) time and effort on the part of the policy holder/ the veterinarian practice. Coincidentally, we (the doggie parents) decided to try-out a pet insurance only because our prior vet retired and we were facing a possibly unknown veterinarian-related future. Pets Best insists on correspondence ONLY via their website portal....BUT, if you really want to talk to an agent (ALWAYS ask for/insist upon a manager), ignore the 'phone prompts and keep dialing "0" until you get through to an agent...then demand a manager...the 'phone agents are clueless and you'll never get a sensible answer !!!

Figo is great. It’s easy to submit a claim, and claims are reviewed/processed at a good pace. They had lots of customizable options for securing a plan within your budget. The ability to text with an e-vet is also a game changer. That feature alone has saved us lots of money by avoiding unnecessary visits to our local vet.
