I've had my policy for over 10 years. This is my second claim. My last claim 9 years ago was handled incredibly claim. My last claim was clearly handled deceitfully. My dog was taken in for a biopsy to have 2 mysterious polyps removed. Trupanion treated one as a treatment for Nexus and the other for Hamartoma so they could treat as two conditions, split the bill (so that $500 deductible could be deducted from both) and not pay me anything. There was no mention of either on the bill. Clearly, it's an attempt to avoid paying a modest sum of $330 on a $1000 bill (after deductible and co-pay) after I've paid them $1400 in premiums this year alone. If this is how they treat a small payment I would hate to see how they handle a bigger payment.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! I signed up my two cats with this company on Oct agreeing to pay $35 +tax for one and $40 +tax for the other one. On November, the made 6 transactions all with random amounts. When I called to find out the reason no body could explain why these charges appeared on my credit. I also sent an email but they keep saying that the are investigating every time I follow up but the charges never stoped. I am still trying to sort these out but they continue withdrawing money from account and are not even able to stop it while investing for past transactions. The customer service is very useless (long wait time, under trained staff and not being able to solve issues) everything is just a run around while the make fraudulent transactions from my credit car. Look like the company is trying to make all its profits of my card. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND SAVE YOURSELF FROM BEING SUBJECT TO FRAUD BY STAYING AWAY FROM FETCH INSURANCE. p.s I would give 0 star if I could. My response to company replay: Funny how you quickly replay to a review but keep ignoring my many emails. Your company is ridiculous and fraudulent . Btw check the single email address that your company has and have one of your bots replay to me and confirm the cancellation of my policy.

Trupanion not True
I ended up with a kitten from an unethical breeder and after 3 weeks things went from bad to worse within 7 days. I had 2 free insurance trial offers and mentioned that to my Vet initially. This comment was mentioned in the Veterinarian Diagnostic and as a result Trupanion adjusters assumed I had a 2nd insurance, yet never called me to clarify. So I received nothing based on some jargon about percentages in their description. I then had to call 2 insurance providers to send emails to confirm to Trupanion I was not covered. This process took 2 weeks and then another 4 weeks for Appeal. Then I needed to call my Vet to have them separate the Euthanasia cost from the Cremation, so now I am waiting another few weeks. They prefer to have you appeal versus speaking to you or the Vet to confirm anything. Don't bother sending an email, they never respond. Finally I noticed that I did not receive 90% of the costs when all was said and done, as is stated on their website. So now more calls & emails, in which there were explanations about multiple mathematical gymnastics pertaining to Version 1 and Version 2 of my Claim. The obvious discrepancies were not addressed. I was told I did not understand and should call any Customer Agent to have them explain. They also removed 90% of the initial Claim documents from the site so it would be impossible to have anyone comb through them. Because the serious issues occured during a 7 day period, the Claim Invoices were sent in one batch. Their adjusters did not look at things sequentially, and the deductable was applied in bits and pieces, including the supposed 90% coverage. Nevertheless it should not have shown a difference if the math was accurate. This company moves through claims quickly, but since we then have to wait months for Appeals I'd venture to say there are a great many of them. I am still waiting 2 months later. It's a small amount, but imagine all these amounts accruing in their favour. Their website marketing is cleverly designed to make you feel like they are amazing. I chose them due to the premiums not going up with age. And therein lies the obvious. Animals like humans get sick with age, if the premiums do not go up, how can they make a profit? Avoid this company, they are smooth and slick tricksters. When our pet is sick or dies we need sympathetic people. Trupanion only cares about their profit, and people with sick pets do not make good decisions and they tend to give up easily. I was with Pet Secure 10 years earlier for 2 cats, and never had to file an appeal. Everything was done in a transparent and compassionate manner. I would recommend you avoid Trupanion and I will notify my Clinic as well, that they are fraudsters.
