Claims are slow!
Claims are no longer processed within several business days. It has been taking weeks! It is disappointing to see exceptional work from a company go down hill. I hope you all get back to good business soon. I would like to return to giving rave reviews.

Disappointed this year
I have been a member for many many years and have lived Trupanion, have shared it with family and friends and often mentioned it in FB posts when people ask about pet insurance but I am very disappointed this year in the very large rate increase. I understand how insurance works (as I work in insurance) but this years jump is ludicrous and when I called to ask questions and asked if there was any consideration for long time members….nothing. I’m very disappointed in Trupanion this year sadly. No attempt to even keep a long time multi pet member. Was told to shop around or change my deductible.

Fair Company
Initially, my claims were rejected which was very frustrating. However, the Embrace customer service staff was really helpful with status updates and appeal procedures. I thought it was a pointless battle but they reviewed the additional information from my pet’s veterinarians and eventually reversed their decision and approved my claims. Very grateful for all their help.

I love Trupanion
I love Trupanion. I took a 50% policy out. Never thinking I would need it for my rescue pup - unfortunately one year after having him he’s been diagnosed with a mass on his lung. We’ve had x-rays taken, ultrasounds, CT scan and I put all the bills through and have gotten back a reasonable portion. he will be having surgery next week, and Trupanion has approved the preliminary invoice. Thank you, Trupanion.

I like pets best it takes a month to 42…
I like pets best it takes a month to 42 days for pets best to let you know if approve or denied for accident. However, what i dont like is if you had accident only policy and pet had a minor injury like a scratch or bite wound that could heal in like less than 2 weeks. If you decide add illness how you know if they will cover any illness. Then they say they can deny the illness say its preexisting but it depends on case. I mean thats stupid so how do i know if any illness will be covered at all in future. My cat is pretty healthy and vet says cat healed pretty good from scratch and you cant see it. Also bite wound was gone. I mean if you take action right away with accident a cat can heal if its so minor. I dont understand if you want to add illness why do they say previous injury are not covered when covered under accident. So basically if add illness its like you aint sure. I swear if my cat in future ever gets sick and they dont cover. I am go drop pets best and i will tell everyone about them. If they approve then maybe ill tell people they are ok. I mean accident they are good but illness im afraid. It is a 14 day waiting period for illness. I think my accident starts next day because i change my policy. I really think if you update the policy to illness they should not count injury they cover against you if you add illness. I mean they are get more money. They should be happy about that and somehow be able update policy without cancel it.

My experience with Embrace has been great so far thanks to my Claim Adjuster, Jessica C. Jessica has been super thorough and prompt with communication, and patient with all my questions and requests for onboarding my dog Ace onto his plan.

TERRIBLE 2023
it started when i originally signed on proactively for my new puppy. i was told certain benefits would begin immediately (they did not), others in 30 days. despite literally spelling out my puppy's name several times, the agent entered a completely different name in the system. i asked him to correct it, he said he did, he did not. as a result when trupanion contacted my vet they say my dog does not exist, yet happily charge me $200 per month for the rest of 2023. complete waste of money and time and energy. go with any other company. now that i know they have continued to charge me for my "nonexistent dog" i may contact a lawyer to explore options. GO WITH ANY OTHER COMPANY. seriously terrible.

Rate increases are excessive. They start reasonable but escalate. Not very impressed.
