This company is a fraud and a joke
This company is a fraud and a joke. They will take your money but will not pay out on claims. The customer service agent hung up on me. They are only good for taking your money. This company should be sued for defrauding their clients. Do not use this company. My claim got rejected from Dec 31 because of a vet visit on Nov 10 and they said it was a pre existing condition. I do not need to deal with this. Absolute sham of a company.

There is nothing worse than this...
There is nothing worse than hearing your pet needs surgery due to a recent bad "jump" out of the car for a walk. Watching my sweet 6 year old limp broke my heart. Knowing that I have had her insured since she was 6 months old, and that I could afford the best care for her, because of my Healthy Paws Insurance was amazing. I tell all my friends to ensure their puppies and kittens. You never know when something bad is going to happen and you never want to be in a place where you can't afford to get your best friend the care they need! Healthy Paws even sent me an email to see how my doggy was doing after the surgery!
I wish that there was a 0 star option
I wish that there was a 0 star option. DO NOT RECOMMEND. I obviously had no difficulty signing up and setting up payment information but everything else was 100% dissatisfactory! I submitted a claim for an ear infection identified at the puppy #2 visit. I submitted the itemized bill the same day as the vet visit. Spot requested information/documents directly from my vet. My vet sent the requested information on 3 separate occasions (ALL within 10 days of the visit); however, Spot DENIED AND CLOSED the claim stating they didn’t receive the information. I emailed Spot using 2 of their email addresses - no response was received. I called on 2 occasions and spoke to representatives who said they would assist BUT they did not provide me with any documentation and the app showed no changes/updates over a week. I didn’t expect a reimbursement- I did expect a statement that the paid amount for the ear infection would be applied toward my deductible. But, NOTHING. So, I canceled and re-enrolled with a different insurance company.

This insurance is bad
This insurance is bad. They are difficult to submit a claim and then they deny the claim once you get through to submit it.

Huge premium increasesIn the 6 years I have had this policy…
In the 6 years I have had this policy my premiums went from$80 per month to $234 per month. That is huge and unaffordable for most. It was my understanding that rates were not increased due to the age of the dog or usage. I have already raised my deductible and lowered coverage, if I do that anymore , it would not make sense to have insurance. Unfortunately, we live with this from all insurance companies. We pay through the nose to protect our health and belongings and are subject to rate hikes and claims being denied across the board. In most states, insurance commissions side with the company rather than the consumer. Embrace, you can do better. One simple thing you can do is let people know upfront what your annual rate increases generally run. There’s a lot of competition out there. I thought I did my homework before purchasing, but sadly I must have missed something. This and huge increases in veterinary care are making pet ownership unaffordable. Someone should do research on how this is affecting rescue and euthanasia. My husband tells me this has to be my last dog.
