New puppy and did not know anything about this insurance. I found it on google and the rest is history. I am very pleased with the sign up and the way my first claim was handled and paid.

Raising Rates
I have had this insurance for my dog since he was a puppy. 6 months ago, they said they were raising my rates, which is understandable after 6 years, except they almost DOUBLED. So the insurance that I have had for almost 6 years has become essentially unaffordable. I am very disappointed, and will probably be cancelling, as there is no longer any benefit.

I don’t know why I even bother paying…
If I could give negative stars I would. I don’t know why I even bother paying for this insurance. My 3-year old dog tore his CCL completely in his back right knee after coverage began. His deductible has been met and they paid ZERO. I’m paying over $660 a year for NOTHING. I’m canceling this crap. But they make you call to cancel so they can try to talk you out of not paying them to do nothing. Update 2/3/24 - These condescending responses from TruPanion are crap. I’m not an idiot. I can read why you denied the claim. If you truly cared about my pet, you would cover things so that middle class people can continue to get their pets cared for. My point is you purposely fix it with wording to insure that NOTHING is covered.

Outstanding
Outstanding! 100% recommend Spot. Based on a strong nudge, we purchased a policy for our 6 month old rescue, never thinking we would use it. Within a month he started limping. Turns out he had somehow developed a deformity of his leg and needed major surgery! Without question Spot step up and covered the visits and surgery. Having our puppy go through this awful experience and surgery was bad enough. At least we now don't have a 7K bill to worry about on top of that. There is no question in my mind Spot is outstanding! Highly recommend them to anyone thinking of getting a policy!

I submitted my first claim for my dogs…
I submitted my first claim for my dogs yearly wellness visit and received almost half of what I paid back from Pets Best. So very helpful in times like these where money is tight. I have three policies, two dogs and one cat. I do wish medicated food was covered as my cat needs prescription food and it is not covered. I was also told that if they ever DO cover it, I couldn't add it onto my policy. Which is REALLY unfortunate. I am tempted to cancel the cat's policy, but she is old and things do come up so I will probably keep it a bit longer. It is just unfortunate because cat's don't normally have expenses like dogs do, this is the only real big expense and it isn't covered. With that I was very happy with the claim process for my Golden, customer service was very helpful and nice when explaining the cat's policy so, so far it seems like a great company!

SPOT is SPOT on!
My experience with Spot has been outstanding thus far. Ease of subimtting a claim and quick reimbursments. Site is well built easy to understand and has detailed information on what is cover/not covered. Additionaly, I've had great customer service when needing an explanation on something or info in general. SPOT is A+++ in my book. Thank you!
