Our dog was a healthy puppy and once…

Our dog was a healthy puppy and once she turn 3 yrs old allergies kick in and the so did the piles of bills from her treatment. Taking the decision to insure our furry baby since day one was totally worth since all the bills after our deductible have been taking care of at 90%. We had a baby at the same time so the economical help is great !

Easy to work with

When my sweet dog reached 8 years old, she was diagnosed with Cushing's Disease, not only does this entail several blood work ups every year, but also a monthly medication that cost $90. I never had an issue submitting or being reimbursed for a claim. Metlife was always prompt with payment. When she was 10, I found out unexpectedly that she had an inoperable brain tumor. I chose to not have her suffer and had her put to sleep and cremated. The staff was so kind when I called with questions. I submitted the paperwork, and they did need additional paperwork, but they were prompt once I sent it. They were very understanding. I would definitely insure future pets through MetLife.

Insurance cover for pets

when placing a claim for pet; the turn around is very good for reimbursement. If you are new to Embrace and you have an older pet, it can be a little longer to get all the reviews from pet past records. Anytime I have made a call with questions, each person has been very helpful and professional.

Use legalease to exclude huge swaths of conditions

This company is just like every other insurance. They will use every excuse they can find to NOT cover a condition. My dog threw up ONCE in 2023 and they used that to not cover all GI issues he ever experiences until 2025. Well throwing up isn't a condition; it's a symptom of MANY conditions. And when my dog then had pancreatitis for the first time ever, they used something totally unrelated to deny $3,000 worth of claims. Additionally, they don't actually tell you what all of the absurd things they're excluding are unless you specifically ask them to OR you file a claim-- so you spend months and months paying for a premium for a policy that turns out to be useless. ------------ Responding to Embrace's response: I would like to just point out that if my complaint is that you hide behind legalease rather than genuinely communicating what a customer's policy is... And your response to that is to hide behind more legalease, you're proving my point. Furthermore, my dog throwing up one time is not a pre-existing, underlying condition. It is an isolated symptom of something that has long since stopped. Not only is it in no way related to him experiencing acute pancreatitis long after my policy's waiting period, it is a gross misrepresentation of his medical history to exclude ALL future GI related issues based on an extremely common symptom that is applicable to many condtions.
