This was my 2nd claim with Spot and they approved and paid much faster then the first time. I am so happy I decided to go with Spot for my dog's insurance. If you are questioning if you should go with Spot-- Stop immediately and trust me when I say you and your dog or kitty will be in good hands.

Increased my premium by 52%!! What?!

I started my policy with Embrace when my pup was 8 weeks old. He is now going to be covered for his 3rd year and my premium increased by 52% ($96 to $146 per month!) mind you all he has had aside from regular wellness checkups is an ear infection and a questionable lump. The reps are friendly and knowledgeable but at this rate, I will be priced out in 2 years. I don't buy the info they provided of it being based on the dog's age, policy tenure and inflation in the area. Maybe that's how they make their money though? They provide a great price to newcomers and price out those with tenure after the rates become ridiculous. I'm not interested in downgrading my coverage but I am also not interested in pay 50%+ extra each year. Reasonable increases are expected but this is insane.

Refusal to accept veterinarian letter…

Refusal to accept veterinarian letter that my dog is mixed breed though that was proof they asked for. OMG. They replied to this post by telling me to call their customer service # like I haven't already spent fruitless hours talking to them with no help. Then today I get an email to dear pet parent asking for my name and policy #. As if this is a brand new issue with a brand new customer. I really see no alternative at this point other than to file a complaint with the Virginia insurance commission

Bait and switch: Reimbursement minimal, premiums inflating - seeking alternative care

Lemonades reimbursement limits have steadily declined in the few years I have had them, while premiums have been raised astronomically. I will be investigating alternative coverages with the intent to leave - due to premiums + out of pockets - minimal reimbursement, the annual cost of care is nearly double the amount I would pay for no coverage.
