Their service is automated annoyance
Their service is automated annoyance. I have two dogs and they get services from the vet on the same invoice. So when I submit an invoice I put in the comments this service is for this dog . . . Spelling it out for them. Every single time they kick back one because they say the invoice was it provided for this animal. Between that and the time it takes to get reimbursed and the cost of the insurance overall it's like the world's worst necessary evil. So over pet insurance but need it just in case.

Please go to the media. If you are also a victim, expose this company. Response to Trupanion: my pets condition was not proven to have started before my policy was in effect. You link everything to preexisting whether there is a medical basis for it or not. You are scammers. Nothing more. This has been my 2 month experience with Trupanion: I will start with the only positive feature of this company. The employees in the online chat and on the phone are available immediately and are very kind. Unfortunately, they have no, and I mean NO power whatsoever. Even the managers have no power. They are basically therpapists that console you when the corporate fat cats deny your claim. When you get on the Trupanion website or visit their YouTube channel, you will see claims of a caring, premium, unmatched pet insurance company. In my experience, they will let your animal die, happily, if it saves them a dime. On even the THINNEST of evidence, they will deny your claim. Sift through the reviews here and visit consumer affairs. You will see many examples. Google "CTV news Trupanion". They have done at least one story on this company. Trupanion is back logged with appeals. I filed an appeal on a Jan 21 2024 case. I was just denied this week. That's 2 months just to await an appeal. It was only reviewed 1 day before being denied. They are so backlogged with appeals that it will take 2 months just to get around to yours. They have a 30 day medical waiting period which they will use, not to deny just fraudulent claims, but to deny legitimate ones. How could you forsee a medical problem with your pet, say 27 days in advance? Why are other pet insurance waiting periods 15 days for medical? Here's my suggestion. Give this company the name of every clinic you have ever been to. Tell them to get your pets records. Then ask for a letter with pre existing conditions that will not be covered. If you don't, they will screw you. They will associate any symptom your pet has had in its life with their current claim reason, and use it, with no medical evidence, to deny you and let you fur baby die. They do not care about you. I will be reporting them for fraud and have contacted CTV NEWS and other media outlets. I will stop at nothing to help people from suffering the way I did. They will tire you out emotionally until you can't fight anymore. My therapy dog almost died because of this company. The dog I have to help me through my PTSD from working in medicine. Don't believe the response "we're pet owners too, we care, please call us." Remeber this: They don't care. Not about you. Not about your animal. The blood of many animals is on the hands of the rich who run this company. Run. Fast.

I'm glad my friend convinced me to get this insurance, because my sheltie (8 y/o) developed a gallbladder mucocele and needed surgery to get it removed. When they removed it, it looked on verge of rupture, which could've killed him. Healthy Paws had always been consistent and quick to reimburse us for covered visits, so I didn't feel the financial pressure taking on a $7-9k surgery (he had complications during it so it turned into $11k). I got back about $9k with my 80% reimbursement plan. Totally worth it. Best of all, my dog is feeling much better!
