Great Company by your side
We have used Trupanion for years, never had to do a claim, thankfully. But 2 weeks ago our dog had pyrometria and needed surgery, We submitted the invoices from the Vet and 3 days later we had our money. Amazing!

Superior Customer Service Agent
My agent, Carl, was simply (and seriously) the best customer service agent I have ever had at any company I have interfaced with. He was fast, efficient, knowledgeable, educated me on what I needed to know. In addition, he was friendly, animated ( I didn't feel like I was talking to a robot reading a script) and resolved all my issues/answered all of my questions in our one call. An experience that tells me I've made the right choice with Nationwide!

There when you need it
I never really gave much thought to pet insurance. It's one of those things that doesn't seem necessary until you need it. I rescued seven cats off the street, and they all have become part of the home. Two had health issues, with one passing because of that coupled with age. Both piled up very expensive vet bills. After that, I felt there was nothing to lose with at least giving pet insurance a try. I was able to get a discount on the premium due to a partnership with my workplace. It was easy to set up accounts and choose the type of benefits from the options available that would seem to fit my needs. The reps I have spoken to have been very helpful and professional each time. Submitting claims is a simple process of uploading copies of the invoices and required SOAP notes from vet visits. The insurance company will even contact the vet and request SOAP notes on your behalf if the vet does not provide them at the time of the visit. Reviewing of claims usually only takes a couple of days, and if reimbursement is forthcoming, is quick to be applied. And it turns out that the insurance is already proving to be a worthwhile investment. Another one of the cats became terminally ill, and incurred expensive visits to two different hospitals. The claims were covered under the policy I chose, and the remaining payout funds covered the policy's portion of the expenses completely, which saved me a distress over having to choose care for the cat versus draining the bank account. While pet insurance may be one of those things that is "Don't need it if you got it, Need it if you don't have it," I am thankful that I do have it, and will be happy if I never need it like that again. Metlife Pet Insurance thus far has been great to work with in maintaining peace of mind that I can ensure that the cats will get the care they need, and I won't have to worry about those big surprise expenses when they come.
