Having health insurance through HealthyPaws was one of the best thing we could of had done for our tiny fur babies. The claims are easy to file, the process is quick and every time we had called customer service we always got the most thorough answers to our questions. This company has sunk to new levels of suck
I've had Trupanion for over 9 years and their service has gone so downhill I am not sure they can ever climb back up. My dog recently had a planned surgery, followed up by an emergency surgery 2 days later. They have not paid the claim correctly and even though I have called 5 times to request a breakdown of how they attributed money to the claim, I still have not received it. I've made several complaints to the Better Business Bureau, which have not resulted in any resolution. I received an unsigned email from someone asking for pathology results, which I gave them, and also explained that they had attributed costs incorrectly and to call the vet to verify this, which they did, and yet have never adjusted the claim or responded to me. This is in addition to a claim that was denied last year that I found out was due to an incorrect entry in my dog's history at the vet. The vet corrected it and suddenly Trupanion ghosted me because they didn't want to pay out the claim. The services they claim to offer are really the best around, and I absolutely loved them and recommended them to everyone until the last few years. Now I feel they only bait and switch, while raising their prices astronomically. They used to raise them a couple of dollars a year, but this year, it was $20 for one dog and $30 for the other dog. I'm not sure what has happened at this company, but basically with the prices I'm paying a month, it's gotten to the point where it's almost not worth it anymore. Any claim over $1,000 is not paid correctly and then they completely ghost you. Even the customer service representatives say not to send an email because they don't answer them, so you have no way of even documenting your requests to them. I'm worried I am going to have to contact a lawyer just to get anyone to talk to me. It's so frustrating, but mostly just disappointing because I used to really love and trust this company.
