I Recommend this Pet Insurance.
I Recommend this Pet Insurance. I obtained a Healthy Paws insurance policy when I got my dog at 12 weeks old. She has spent the majority of her life in great health, however, two years ago she was diagnosed with a heart murmur. Healthy Paws has paid all claims (after the $250 yearly deductible was satisfied) in a timely fashion. When she was first diagnosed and I started filing claims, the turnaround time for processing payment was within a week to ten days. Now it is within two days. I've been very happy with this company and hope to continue a happy relationship with it. A few things to know are that smaller dogs have lower premiums than bigger dogs, the premiums go up over time, and there is the $250.00 yearly deductible which must be satisfied before the 80% reimbursement occurs. I started 12 years ago with a monthly premium of $35.00 for my Boston Terrier mix and now the premium is $113.00. In addition, and the company was pretty clear when I obtained the policy, pre-existing conditions are not covered. None of this was overly surprising to me but I wanted to make a full disclosure to anyone who is looking for a few extra details before they buy. It's definitely beneficial to get the policy for a young, healthy puppy and keep it as they age.

I just cancelled my service
I just cancelled my service. I have kittens and after three months of being messed around on am I covered as being without preexisting conditions or not, I decided to go with another company. I’d get a yes, then no, then yes. Nothing is wrong with them. So there was literally no need for the confusion.

I don't even know why I have this insurance. All my claims get denied. This doesn't help me or my dog's needs. I'm just buried in vet debt.

Healthy Paws a Special Thank you!
Healthy Paws has once again came to my rescue. I have a little yorkie who turns one year on July 24th. She needed surgery and Healthy Paws provided the coverage. I cannot express my gratitude and the compassion that I received from the Healthy Paws staff. Thank you with all my heart. Judy
Best thing I ( finally) every did
Best thing I ( finally) every did was get Trupanion for my Doberman when we first got her. She had to have 2 ACL replacements, dental surgery, mass removals and other medications- and Trupanion covered more than I expected! Their team in knowledgeable, efficient and super friendly! I especially had a great experience recently with Noelle! Trupanion will be my Pet insurance go to ( and has been for 9 years now) !

I wish it had been easier to settle my claim
My claim for care at the emergency pet hospital was originally rejected because Embrace said it was a preexisting condition. I appealed the decision and explained that the original time I brought my cat in I was told that there was nothing wrong, so there was no preexisting condition. Embrace reviewed the claim and said it had been coded incorrectly and they then honored the claim. I don't know where the wrong coding came from--the vet or Embrace. I am pleased that Embrace ultimately honored the claim but I am not pleased that I had to go through an appeal to get there. Getting to speak to someone on the phone entailed a number of very long waits on hold and a rep who told me--incorrectly, it turned out--that it was definitely a preexisting condition.
