I just wrote a five star review a week…
I just wrote a five star review a week ago, as I have had very good service with Embrace, up until now. My dog had surgery, claim was submitted, three submissions of medical records (all to same email address) later, they did a review. Three masses were removed, surgery was done due to one of the masses containing cancerous cells. Two were non-cancerous, but we did not do a needle biopsy on those so did now know that until the pathologist told us so. Mass removal, none of it covered, even though we knew at least one was potentially cancerous, none of the pathology was covered, even though we had to make sure they got it all, and none of the anesthesia was covered. Are they supposed to do surgery without anesthesia? If they had bothered to really read the notes sent by the vet, they would know all of this. Oh and the $250 deposit that I put down prior to the surgery was closed, but I was told it would be reopened when the surgery was completed, so that is DENIED too. So my $1,700 bill became a $910.38 bill and somehow, even though my plan is 90% covered became a reimbursement of $458.79. Must be the new math. They way I see it, my 1795.96 claim, plus the $250 deposit should have been a $2,045.96, They should cover anesthesia, since we knew one was for sure cancerous, they should cover some of the pathology to determine we got it all and they should cover the removal of one mass. Even if they only cover 1/3 of those charges since two were non-cancerous, that would be an additional $295.19, add the $250 deposit to the $910.38 they say is covered totals $1,455.57. My plan is 90%, so that would be $1,310.01 covered, not $458.79. It is really simple math, and if you read the vet notes, it is all there for them to see. Be cautious with this company. They were really good until they just stuck the knife in, big time.

Really disappointed in the coverage
Really disappointed in the coverage. Cancelled my coverage. My dog started to unexpectedly vomit and they are claiming it is not an accident. That should absolutely be covered in the premium I pay. I am also not interested in paying nearly $100 a month for them to also cover my pet's "illness," that he actually doesn't have. They're calling it an illness and it's not an illness, it's an unexpected turn of events because he was vomiting blood. Well, they don't know that. he was vomiting blood. They are scamming people. Just save your money people and go with healthy paws. I have never had them deny claims, but they are nearly as expensive.

1st Claim Submittal
Submitting the claim was simple. Now, if the payment process is just as easy I will be thrilled.

Unprofessional and inhumane Customer Service
MetLife Pet Insurance has been one of the most unprofessional companies I’ve ever dealt with. There’s no higher-level customer service available — when you ask to escalate, you’re given false promises about someone calling you back, but no one ever follows through. I’ve submitted multiple claims in the exact same format, and instead of processing them consistently, they simply close them without any explanation. Every time I try to fix the issue, I end up spending hours on the phone only to be talked down to or treated like I don’t know what I’m talking about. It’s amazing how quickly MetLife can deduct the premium from your account, but when you actually need support or reimbursement, they completely disappear. Every department I’ve dealt with — even the so-called “fraud and ethics” department — has been unhelpful and dismissive. MetLife Pet Insurance has shown me nothing but shady, unethical behavior. Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere for a company that actually values its customers.

Healthy Paws has been amazing this past…
Healthy Paws has been amazing this past year with my 6 year old female pit bull. She got a soft tissue injury at the beginning of the year. They were great on paying for all the testing and treatments. We did laser therapy and hydro therapy for her and I eventually purchased some items for me to do at home. This was to save money and time. HP reimbursed us for everything. We are still doing treatments 6 months later but now at home. She also recently was found to have mass tumors that needed to be removed in October and that was also covered with no issues. Healthy Paws makes it easy to submit claims and I rarely have issues with getting reimbursed. I would not have been able to afford all of these treatments if I did not have insurance for my dog.
