The customer service is excellent
The customer service is excellent. Claims took a little longer than usual, and the explanation of benefits was a little foggy for me, but I reached out to another customer service rep who clarified. The first rep I spoke with also expedited my claims since it was taking longer than usual because they were updating their processes. Overall satisfied.

We did not expect our 14 month old…
We did not expect our 14 month old Corgi to need emergency surgery for a blockage. Embrace paid all but the deductible and the co-pay. I didn't expect it to take as long as it did to get reimbursed, but it finally was approved and when it was, the money was in my bank within a couple of days.

Jumped through hoops
As of today 08/27/24, I can’t recommend Embrace for pet insurance. I submitted my first claim after approximately three years of having a policy on two pets and it was denied. I specifically have insurance on our senior cat for injuries. He had an accident inside our home and we rushed him to the Pet ER and thankfully it wasn’t a massive amount out of pocket and didn’t end up being life threatening either. They sent us home with an e-collar and antibiotics for his eye and a week later, all was good. I submitted the reimbursement paperwork and 24 hours later denied it due to it being an illness, not an injury. I literally wrote in the paperwork that he hit his head, had a blood filled eye and was rushed to the ER. I wrote back explaining this again and so far, no response. If something should change, I’ll update my review but at this point, I’m thinking about going elsewhere for insurance. Update 08/28/24 7:22am After seeing the response from Embrace below for my review, I logged into the app to see if it was indeed changed to accepted and I just didn’t get an email update; however it was not and was still in a decline status. The same message states “The claim is not covered by your insurance because it is an illness and XXXX does not have illness coverage. XXXX is insured for accidents only” Update 08/30/24 Nothing updated from my claim notes stating it was denied and now covered; however, after a few emails back and forth with different people, they’ve assured me that the claim was approved and a check was issued and mailed. Still not pleased with jumping through hoops for this.

Clear communications and great website…
Clear communications and great website so I can see exactly how claims are processed, when I’ve met my deductible and what coverage I have remaining.

Not Worth The Cost
I’m very disappointed in how little they actually cover especially given that I upgraded with add ons like wellness—I’ve spent well over 600 dollars (just to keep in mind that I did sign her up as a 12 week old very healthy puppy) and did all the standard vaccinations / exams and Figo only reimbursed me 45 dollars. That’s it. I work in insurance and employer/ee benefits and I’ll never recommend this to my groups. The app is easy to use.

Scam
I decided to get pet insurance for my 2 dogs, pretty much for possible catastrophic events. My dog, Bella became ill a d was peeing blood, of course after hours so I took her to Urgent Care vet after hours. Treated for UTI and followed up with my regular vet the next week. I filed claim for these visits and was denied because the needed more records uploaded. I did that, then after a very long time was denied again because they said UTI was a preexisting condition. Bella has never had a UTI in her 4 year old life. I filed an appeal and didn't hear anything for 17 days so I called to check on it and never got to talk to a person so I called and canceled both policies. This insurance appears to be a scam, as they gladly took my money to pay for it but refused to honor the policy, coming up with bogus reasons not to pay. I have decided to take the money I pay for premiums and create an emergency fund for my dogs.
