Absolutely terrible
Absolutely terrible, make you file a claim to get reimbursed so everything comes out of pocket initially but then they make it very difficult to reimburse you, even for the most basic of services, they wanted medical records for our pup when he wasn’t even born yet. These guys suck.

An existing policy holder trying to…
An existing policy holder trying to sort out my renewal and cannot get through to the team on the phone (number 27 in queue) or by email (tried 5x times now). Really disheartening as I haven’t had too bad of an experience until now.

I have 4 cats and pay for my daughter's 2 dogs. The monthly premium is about $200. I have a senior Cat who is not insured due to his age. He was 8yrs. when he had cancer surgery just above his eye. That was insured. He now has kidney disease that is treated with a prescription diet. To diagnose this, a blood panel was required. That invoice was $1500. His treatment is prescription food. He has been given 3 years. In my own deceased 2 dogs, one had diabetes, requiring insulin and both had chronic bowel inflammation that required prescription food and they both had recurring eye injuries. One had knee surgery on each leg. I remember that was three to four thousand. They were both insured. The co-insurance was 20% and the deductible was $100. I paid approximately $80 per month for both. Now I have 3 cats' premiums. Now deductibles start at $200. My daughter's dog is allergic to chicken, and the other's liver requires prescription food temporarily. He just became blind. I have probably missed something. I had other cats that were euthanized due to extreme illness even though they were insured. However, they were diagnosed and had surgery. Our insurer also covered euthanism costs. My husband and I loved them all and it is painful to lose a pet but we never let them die because we couldn't afford to treat them. You must consider when you adopt an animal that you will require insuring them. Don't think that your animal will never be sick. You are gambling with their life. And reconsider having multiple pets. An average premium can be $45/month.

Thank you. The appeal was accepted.
I have talked to 3 different agents 3 separate times and each one has been extremely helpful. I shouldn't have to mention this but the best part is that I can talk to a native English speaking person who is not reading from a script. My claim was originally denied because the condition did look as though it might be a preexisting condition. I submitted an appeal and my claim was accepted as a new condition. The payout was significant.Thank you so much! I love my dog and I don't want to have to make healthcare decisions based on whether I can afford the care or not.

denies claims
I have had trouble being reimbursed for anything and everything. They consider an ear infection a preexisting condition. They have denied everything I have sent in.

One Less Thing To Worry About
When your loved one, in this case, your dog is sick, you have so many things to worry about. One of them may probably be affordability. MetLife Pet Insurance is great! Customer service is helpful with all my questions. They work with your Vet Office to get all the necessary paperwork to process your claim.
