They are very clear about deductible
They are very clear about deductible, and what’s covered. The claim process is super easy and the money is put into my bank account. I highly recommend.

My cat, Panther, was seen as a weekend emergency and Trupanion covered her claim for lethargy, which at the time seemed to be due to constipation. I was advised that while she was doing well upon discharge, their diagnostics were limited and if it recurred she might need to see an internal medicine specialist. Recently she was again seen by her veterinarian for constipation - and while the claim was allowed, there was no payment because it was considered a new diagnosis, which would require the deductible to be paid twice. I filed an appeal to Trupanion. However, when I later reviewed the paperwork on the first claim. I could understand why this was a confusing issue. Trupanion was responsive to the appeal and allowed the claim to be paid. They were professional. I highly recommend them for pet insurance.

Excellent service but…
I had Trupanion insure my dog for 14 years. I recently had to make a move from Saskatchewan to Alberta. I used the self service to change my address and the app told me my premiums would increase 10 fold. I phoned customer service thinking this was obviously a mistake but I was told that whatever the app told me was correct. I was flabbergasted.

I actually had canceled 1 dog to go elsewhere so we could cover 3 dogs for cheaper rate. I ended up talking to a Dennis to cancel and something stuck in my mind about a lower price point. Called them back 3 days ..and after talking to a Megan and then Becky, we changed all 3 medium to large dogs with trupanion. Both were extremely helpful, super knowledgeable and I was on the phone with them all In all for over an hour. They waived the 1 time fee for the other 2 new dogs and offered a comprehensive rehab kinda plan for about 15 % of dogs premium. So my youngest pit, her plan is around 29$ so an extra 5$ for that plan. It included homeopath, hydrotherapy, accupuncture, and so much more...and for as long as she s with them. My almost 7 year old large sheppard mix, his premium is 65$ monthly and for that extra it cost 12$ extra. So they re very competitive. The deductible is higher, but for us, worth it. And pay direct is also awesome. I feel they have much more to offer for sure and customer service is excellent. But make sure to call them. Big difference with you enrolling them online by yourself, and talking to someone. The price dropped dramatically by calling customer service. Thank you Becky, Megan and Dennis! You were fantastic!!

Fast and fair claims handling. Pet insurance is not inexpensive but it is heartening to know that the claims support is there for the policyholder.

certainly not the best
total harrassment of a claim I filed, the company had processed the same type of claim before. they now wanted every single piece of paper from the clinic we use The last claim, which they had also paid before took 2 1/2 months to process Not the best!!

Worthless Product - Do NOT waste your money on PetsBest
My dog accidentally severely injured his leg while at the dog park. He was shrieking in pain and completely unable to walk. I felt confident that I could afford to seek the care he desperately needed with my Accidental Injury Policy from PetsBest. I was WRONG. PetsBest refused to pay the claim. Under the policy they promised to cover costs related to accidental injuries. They did no such thing. They covered nothing related to the accidental injury. I am left with a vet bill that I cannot afford and unable to pay my rent because I foolishly believed that if I paid for this insurance, PetsBest would honor its obligations under the policy. I can't think of a worse waste of money than the payments I have been making to PetsBest.
