Highly recommend
Trupanion has been there for us from the beginning. (literally on the phone with them as we drove home after picking up our puppy). I am never worried about my pet’s healthcare if an emergency happens. I can focus on my pet. Trupanion’s website portal and claim process is simple. They communicate every step of the way. Their approval/denial process is fair and has also taught me a great deal on healthcare and preventative healthcare for my dog. As a first time dog owner I researched many insurance companies and think I made the right choice.
Who says an insurance company can’t be great?
This company has been so great from the get go. All of the staff I have ever worked with has been incredibly helpful and pleasant from assisting with enrollment to claims processing to any questions in between. Claims are always processed incredibly promptly. I referred a friend and she has told me how equally pleased she has been. Would recommend to anyone with a pet who is interested in pet insurance.

Not as I expected when I signed up
I wasn't expecting the preventative limits to be so low. Bordetella allowed is only $8. That's pretty low. The exam allowable limit is only $50. No one has exams for that. I was just expecting something more considering the additional premium for the coverage. It was my understanding that the coverage was 100% for preventative and 90% for the rest of the policy. But now I see it's not that way. I think of like to cancel the policy and go with a more expensive policy like trupanion that actually covers the total price of the invoice at the deductible rate advertised.

So far I’m pleased w/ Pets Best Ins. The woman I spoke w/ in Customer Service (I didn’t get her name) was very nice & very helpful. Unfortunately, my wonderful cat, Little Kitty, got sick & died & Pets Best paid all her bills. The reason I gave them 4 stars & not 5 is because they took forever to reimburse me.
