Extremely efficient
Extremely efficient. I had submitted for pre approval an estimate for dental cleaning. Then when the cleaning was done and she was under anesthetic they found large tumor which was also removed. When I submitted the final bill with the extra charge, it was so great that you didn’t argue about the tumor removal. Pumpkin actually recorded, approved, and reimbursed me within an hour of submission of claim. Was amazing and impressive. I had used pumpkin for a claim maybe 4 yrs ago and I don’t know if Pumpkin has become more efficient or since I had also switched vets, my new vets office provides better invoices but this time was a 10 star experience. Thank you

I am seriously impressed
I am seriously impressed, after 8+ years of having this insurance, how useful it has been and how efficient and professional this company is. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Not Paying for Office Visit in the case of an emergency
While I understand that Trupanion does not pay for the actual office visit, not paying for one in an emergency is unacceptable. What is the point of having the insurance if it does not cover emergency care? When you have a pet and you want pet insurance, there are a lot of options. I chose Trupanion because of the coverage. I used in when my other cat was ill and his visits were covered. Your coverage has changed and I find it difficult especially when rates have more than doubled in the last few years, with less coverage. My personal health insurance is less with better coverage than you offer for a cat. Unfortunately, I am stuck with this as he now has an existing condition.

Aileen was a pleasure to work with, in deciding what plan works for my pet. She answered all my questions in a professional and courteous manner. I would recommend her to anyone having trouble deciding if., or which policy works for them. Keep up the Great Work!!

Springer sustained a spinal injury
Springer sustained a spinal injury. Had to make three visits to the neurologist for a consult, MRI/CT, and back surgery. Total cost out of pocket was over $9k. We were reimbursed almost immediately from pumpkin for a total of $7200. I was amazed by the speed of the approval. The insurance piece of mind was worth its weight in gold.

Thankful
I just wanted to comment as Ive noted some negative reviews. I think with every service there will always be good and not so great. We live in British Columbia, Canada and my experience has been nothing but positive. I have 3 pets, that includes an aging rescue cat. Ive always believed in pet insurance and have coverage for all of my fur babies. Ive found Pet plus Us submissions to be easy as our vet does this automatically after a visit. My old cat has required extra care and knowing that I have an outstanding vet and responsive insurance services has made such a difference in his/our quality of life. Thank you!

Dubious business practice
In my opinion, shared online by many, charging an enrollment fee is disgusting. Disclosing it quietly only at the final moment before payment is sleazy. The charge is at best a nuisance fee, at worst price gouging. While you pay a full first-month premium you are only provided minimal coverage. Surely that covers so-called "set-up" costs. If this is how Furkin chooses to nickel-and-dime customers at the onset of a relationship, it raises serious concerns about how they will behave when it actually comes time to pay a claim. It's great that ethical businesses do not emulate this business practice. Imagine if the coffee shop down the street informs you there’s a “Drink Initiation Fee” to cover the cost of setting up your beverage relationship. “It’s a one-time charge,” they say reassuringly and we won't charge it again tomorrow. Ha!
