Beware of claims accuracy!

I submitted a claim for a visit for my cat, and this company covered it per the policy. That was great. HOWEVER, the injury required a follow-up, and that is where the problems occurred. There were two items on the invoice from the follow-up visit. One was a covered blood test. One was uncovered prescription food. In processing the claim, Fetch subtracted the cost of the food from the cost of the blood test rather than from the total bill. Thus, I was paid less than 50% of the blood test cost rather than the 80% my policy requires. I reached out to them via email, and rather than respond they initiated a new claim. I was asked for documents and provided them. The claim was denied because they only looked at the food cost rather than their calculation error—AGAIN. I actually work in (human) employee benefits, so I was able to see the mistake and try following up. This could happen a lot more and people don’t even notice. If Fetch makes an error processing a claim, good luck to anyone in trying to get help. There is no customer service agents to speak with, and the claims process is like dealing with A.I. I don’t think anyone actually looks at the documentation, because I annotated everything explaining the incorrect claim process and they just repeated their error. I am now on my third try and my hopes are low for an actual human being to help. Maybe cats and dogs do the claims processing.

does not pay your claims

I was filing my claims later than the 180 days and there were no opportunity to get reimbursed. Also they are super strict to what they reimburse, and for every month I paid policy premium it was a waist because at the end after 2 years I got no reimbursement of any of the services at the vet

Something has changed with Embrace…

Edit: after waiting 30 minutes on the phone, I was able to get this issue resolved and changed to 3 stars. It is still not good that I received repeated emails with vague instructions, a strange email where a claim was closed for a dog of mine that has not been with us for over 8 years, and then being forced to call to have it all corrected. I hope this situation doesn't repeat. I previously have been happy with Embrace, but after paying into insurance for over 7 years I am suddenly being given the run around with my claims. I have submitted claims for my pet's regular prescriptions as done every other time for the last year, and I receive a series of frustrating, vague emails that the pdfs are missing information. It's the same receipt I've sent every other time. The emails do not clarify what is missing. After 3 times of this same email being sent to me for the same claim, suddenly someone says that my pets name needs to be on the form and the service date (it never has before and the service date is the order date... on the form). I try to send additional information with screenshots of my dog's prescription showing her name, and my claims are suddenly just closed. Further, in trying to call Embrace to resolve this, there is a message they are short staffed and that you may be waiting over 30 minutes to speak with someone. I don't know what has suddenly happened to this company, but it has declined in quality and service and ability to handle claims properly without the customer incredibly frustrated, wasting hours of their time to correct these issues.
