Human Insurance Should Be This Good!
We have used Healthy Paws for eight years now, for both of our rescue pups. I have never been without pet insurance and always will have it, with the hope that I don't have to use it. Unfortunately, one of our dogs has had a string of bad luck in two years, with two ACL surgeries back to back, and then getting a foxtail embedded in his face. He also has a heart condition so every single procedure comes with risk. Because of Healthy Paws, our pup Clark (as well as his sister Bella) has been able to get the care he needed. We have shelled out thousands of dollars- and it's always so much more than what is submitted (including MANY trips to the pet store for needs, diet changes when his tummy hurts due to meds, etc). The minute I file a claim with Healthy Paws, I get an email saying they got my claim, then within a day or two, I have a claim number. Within a day or two after than, my reimbursement has been sent to my account. I am flabbergasted at how on top of it Healthy Paws is! I even got an email the other day asking how Clark is. It makes me want to cry. I wish human insurance could be so "patient centered". I never mind paying my monthly premium and I don't mind when it's raised, because I can't possibly say thank you enough to Healthy Paws for all they have done for our dogs. All pet owners should have insurance and hopefully NOT need it. But if they do, they will be glad they have it!
Not what it used to be
Ridiculous nonsense about direct deposit. Insistence that I was giving the wrong account number when I checked and rechecked and I know it was correct. The problem was not addressed via my online email. Had to call several times, trying to get things straight until, in frustration, I had to ask for my (partial) refund to be sent to my address - and this was a full 10 days after submission of the claim. It will probably be the weeks before I get my reimbursement, which is unacceptable.Had reimbursement several times to my current address before, but now they're reading off an old address from 8 years ago and telling me I never changed it. Whatever is happening here - trying to hold onto money as long as possible to garner interest from it, prepping to deny claims because my cat is getting old, or incompetence - I certainly wish this company would go back to it's better days.

Do not! I repeat, do not look here for pet insurance.
Do not choose this insurance company for your pet. They are misleading. When it comes time to pay out a claim, they come up with lame excuses just so they don't have to pay. Awful experience. Save yourselves the headache of having to deal with this group of liars.

This company was great to work with. Eli-the rep took a great deal of time helping me decide on a policy for my 12 year old dog He was knowledgeable, patient and very nice. I signed up for the policy, even though I suspected my dog would probably only live a couple more years. But she was happy and I wanted to be able to afford unexpected expensive vet care if needed. Unfortunately, she died later that evening -after signing up for insurance. She had been fine that morning. Embrace kindly refunded my payment since she died unexpectedly. Not sure I will get another dog but if I do, I will certainly get insurance through Embrace. Customer service reps were all great!

I insured my kitten and took him to his first appointment. I got the wellness package and it has paid off getting his vaccinations and he'll be getting neutered in a few weeks. He also has had a couple kitten mishaps that would have cost me a couple grand had I not insured him! I highly recommend pet insurance.

Initially, this could have easily been a 1-star review because all my claims for my puppy’s illness were denied, labeled as pre-existing condition. But after an appeal and a thorough review, I finally received full reimbursement for all my claims. They corrected their mistakes and recalculated everything. In the end, though they did cause me some stress, I’m happy it worked out (at least for now), and I hope things go smoothly in the future. I’m impressed by how the company took the time to really dig into my case, review all the evidence and vet statements, and admit they initially processed my claim incorrectly. I’m giving 5 stars because I did get the outcome I wanted, and I can say the company does pay claims. For anyone else in a similar situation, my advice would be don’t rush to judge. Try working with customer support and backing up your case with evidences if you feel your claim was unfairly denied. Best of luck and wishing health to your pets!

Horrible experience at the vet, but an easy claims process with Embrace.
After a horrific experience (for me and my dog), I was surprisingly pleased that the claims process was so simple. I filled out a simple form on the Embrace website, uploaded the bill, and - voila! I was approved very quickly and the money was sent to my account a few days later. Thank you, Embrace, for making it so easy.
