First claim i’ve ever filed - would recommend.
First claim i’ve ever filed. Good people to work with. Even though their phone msg says there can be up to an hour of wait time, someone actually DID get back to me, both times I called. *Must be careful to give the correct details from the beginning. They want vet history. If you accidentally list a vet that wasn’t in your pets history, you’ll be hung up for days while they continue to try to retrieve history that doesn’t exist. Suggestion: be sure to get all the history yourself, then email or upload to the site. Vets names/addresses need to be correct. Correcting all the way through to adjusters after the fact is challenging, even with phone call. They honored my claim, with very reasonable payout. Would I recommend? YES :-)

Don’t be fooled
My policy renewed a few days ago, and like many other reviewers here have said, prices skyrocketed this year! My healthy 7 year old chihuahua mix has been insured by embrace for 3 years now. In those years I have submitted 2 claims; a tick bite and a scratched eye. Both were in the same claim period (near the end of the first year of coverage). After a VERY BAD first claim experience (see previous review), I was eventually reimbursed for the amount over my deductible. I wasn’t too surprised when my renewal cost went up that time, but it was reasonable.. less than $10/month. I adjusted my deductible to keep cost down and haven’t needed anything from embrace since. Imagine my shock when my renewal went from $55/month to $79/month!! In the renewal email embrace strongly recommended decreasing coverage to keep cost down! And THERE’S the racket!! They gladly offer affordable coverage to hook you and then once you’ve gone through the waiting period they hike prices and use the threat of having to suffer waiting periods if you decide to leave! Instead they want you to stay, but they also want you to significantly DECREASE coverage so they are off the hook should you actually need to be reimbursed for something expensive! It’s not so much that they want more premium money monthly, it’s that they don’t want to pay too much, thereby negating the actual POINT of having insurance! When I called to adjust coverage again the friendly agent suggested keeping my deductible the same but cutting reimbursement limit by 33-50% instead!! I almost agreed, but instead asked what my cost would be to keep all coverage the same but increase my deductible; I explained that having to pay $1000 before getting coverage each year was better for me, since the point of insurance is having BIG expenses covered if they happen. Surprise surprise! My premium is even LOWER than before, and you better believe I will use the opportunity to find better pet insurance and be done with the embrace scam before next year’s renewal! Since $1000/year is the maximum deductible they allow (which I find strange), starting next year my only option will be to decrease coverage. No thanks, embrace!!!
