Hidden fees; Per issue deductible not worth it.
We received a first month free of Trupanion from the rescue we adopted from, after the month was over we were charged a number of hidden fees we did not agree to when originally signing up. The monthly fee was significantly more than we could afford or agreed to; and significantly more than competitors! The $250 deductible is also less helpful than advertised; we have yet to hit the deductible for any of the 3 issues our dog has had, yet we have spent over $600 in vet bills.

Fast and caring service
I adopted a 2 year old rescue (of unknown history, but overall a very healthy dog) and at first wasn't sure if insurance was worth it - as most insurance doesn't cover general preventative vet visits. But suddenly my dog got very ill, and I had no worries about the financial implications of taking him to the hospital. The claims process was simple (upload a photo of the bill online) and within 2 weeks, I received not only an explanation of what was covered vs not (most was covered) but also received the benefit payment as well.

This is the best, most outstanding insurance for a pet that I've ever seen or heard of.
I have had this insurance for at least 7 or 8 years and it is the best product in my opinion regarding animal insurance. Having this insurance literally saved my dog's life within the last 2-3 months. I would encourage anyone who is interested in having medical insurance for their pet or pets to use this company. I wouldn't be without it.

We are so grateful for Trupanion! Trupanion has been our lifeline for Stella! Stella is alive because of Trupanion! ❤️
We can’t express how thankful we are for Trupanion. We think Stella should be the spokesperson (if dogs could talk) for Trupanion! Stella has had 3 emergency surgeries and is now being treated for cancer. Trupanion has been there every step of the way, supporting us through some challenging times. Trupanion has saved our four legged baby so many times now. We would have been in a very difficult spot without Trupanion. I would be happy to talk to anyone that has questions or doubts about how wonderful Trupanion is! The only insurance company that I have been so appreciative of!

Claims are 25-35 day wait
I believe the point of insurance is not to worry about financial hardship for your pet. Claims takes too long and the excuse is that people are adopting pets and there is not enough staff to process claims quickly enough. I will be finding a new insurance.
