Typical insurance, they'll get out of paying.
This insurance is a scam. We signed up within a couple days of adopting our two new kittens. They tell you to take them in for a wellness exam within a week or two after you adopt. We did that. This exam was, of course, within the waiting period. Fine, we paid for it out of pocket and didn't submit anything. One of the kittens had started having diarrhea so they did a fecal test just in case it wasn't just the stress of the move and food changes. It came back negative and our vet said to just give it a little time. Everything else checked out well with both cats--happy and healthy. Then a month later diarrhea is back and bad so we go back to see why. They do a PCR fecal test and some bloodwork. But because diarrhea was mentioned in her first appointment, now they consider it a pre-existing condition and cannot be covered. Imagine that, a kitten with diarrhea, as if that is rare. Now I have paid over $1,000 out of pocket and none of it is covered, or even goes even toward my deductible. I have to pay for insurance that doesn't cover anything that might be in any way tied to GI or diarrhea for another 6 months before they "might" not consider it a pre-existing condition anymore.

The claim was soo easy
The claim was soo, easy to complete. I have two dogs, (Labs) and taking them anywhere is a work out. That was the most difficult thing. The claim form was quick and simple. Scan a copy of the invoice, fill in the drop-downs and the amount and it's on it's way. It was almost relaxing to do the paperwork.

A better company than what I had before
For the 1st positive thing about this company was the rates. I had been paying $35.00 a month with MetLife Pet Insurance for 3 years. I had always had auto pay. Then last August they stopped using my auto pay but did not inform me. When I realized, the policy had been canceled. They were not willing to reinstate my policy, eventhough it was their error by not telling me. I looked online and found Nationwide Pet Insurance. Not only was the coverage much better but the rate was a lovely surprise. It easy to sign up and my kitty had coverage by the end of the day!
