Most Excellent & very best choice for pets!

I have been a veterinarian for 21 years. Every veterinarian at some point encounters "economic euthanasia". I believe that pet insurance is the single biggest protective device AGAINST "economic euthanasia". I had much experience with the first pet insurance company when it was still in the business of protecting pets and pet owners from "economic euthanasia". Then the company decided that the "bottom line" was more important than the "tie that binds" - - in this case the precious family-pet relationship. Suddenly the company relied on "benefit schedules" that bore absolutely no resemblance to the actual costs for various procedures. Instead, our clients were witness to a company that spent lots of time and energy denying any sort of benefit to pets and the people who love them. Then Dr. Jack Stephens introduced Pets Best Insurance - - as he describes it, "Simply the best for pets". The claims process is exceptionally easy - - we help the client complete the claim form, we fill out the medically relevant information, attach an invoice, and then we actually fax it to Pets Best to ensure the timely filing of claims. The rest is history-making, because once the deductible is paid, Pets Best takes care of 80% of the remainder. In claim after claim that we have seen after settlement, there it is in black and white - - 80/20... No other pet insurance - - other than Pets Best - - makes sense!

My first claim experience is great

I had just recently filed my first claim with Embrace and it was handled fast and professionally. I received confirmation e-mail, that they received my claim and also received a summary and detail explanation on how the claim was handled. The representative was very friendly and helpful

No problems so far

I have two giant breed dogs (a Great Dane and a St. Bernard)insured with them and have had no problems with coverage for anything. I chose the most extensive plans to ensure as much benefit as was necessary in case of problems. As with all contracts, you should READ THE FINE PRINT for the coverage start date and what exactly will be denied (existing conditions, age-related dz, etc.). It's not difficult to mull through or understand. Insurance is definitely worth the money if you have dogs that weigh 150+ pounds and every medication is weight-dosed. :)

Sneaky renewals add exclusions each year.

I paid for AKC petpartners for 3 years & everything was OK until I had claims. It took 2 months to process my first claim, they limited coverage to "reasonable & customary", and their deductible & copay creeped up since I started with them. Most frustrating were added exclusion clauses when I renewed. Bottom line for over $1,200 in treatments I was reimbursed less then $300. Don't do it - This wasn't worth the paper work hassle, years of monthly payments & claims frustration. You are better off to start a monthly savings bond direct deduct to cover unplanned vet expenses in lieu of the monthly payment. Their exclusions are extensive.

My first claims experience

I just received word that my first two claims were accepted toward my deductible. After many hours of researching the topic of pet insurance and pondering the cost vs. benefit, loopholes, etc. the Embrace staff answered every question and helped me to make this important decision. A word of caution to consumers! Do your homework, visit the Embrace website, and give them a call before chosing an insurance carrier and policy. I look forward to a long relationship with Embrace!

Well worth the price of admission!!!

This product has literally saved myself and many I know who are insured by Pets Best 10's of thousands of dollars in costs which in many persons financial situations would be prohibitive to them affording to save and maintain in good health their loved one and pet companion.

Pets Best is Best

Having been a frustrated VPI customer for several years, it was a pleasant surprise to find Pets Best and to have claims paid quickly and fairly. With VPI, I got pennies on the dollar. With Pets Best I am seeing most of my bills covered.

Over priced - but good customer service

The policy I bought was overpriced, but the customer service was wonderful. Easy to terminate during the 30 day money back guarantee; one e-mail and the policy was terminated and full refund applied. I would consider them if the premium was affordable.

Don't do it

It is easy to setup a policy on the website, but try to terminate a policy; it's like pulling teeth. If you e-mail them, they don't respond, when you call them, the customer service extension has a long queue. If you call and speak to the sales department they are clueless and only try to upsell you on a product you don't want to begin with. Once you get through to cancel the policy, they try to talk you out of it and tell you they are best company cause they cover more than all the others. WRONG!! If your dog is diagnosed with a hereditary illness, they will cover the loss the first time and at renewal, it will be a pre-existing condition and you won't get a dime. Pet Plan US - www.gopetplan.com offers a Guarantee for Life Policy which covers hereditary conditions and will not consider it a pre-existing condition in the future; plus great customer service!!

Don't use ASPCA!!!!!!!

I do not recommend ASPCA. They do not return my phone calls and half the time do not answer their phones. We recently sumbitted a claim that should have been covered by our plan, but they denied it for no reason. After we called to dispute, they completely changed our claim, from an injury to an illness. My dog was injured not sick! Shop around before using them!! Also, they were supposed to get back to us and they still haven't. We are canceling immediately and looking for other coverage.
